I first flew sailplanes at El Mirage which was just across the dry lake bed from Poncho's riding club back in 1968. Back in time when aviation was still full of firsts- supersonic fighters, the X-15, landing on the moon. I was flying before I had my drivers license.
Have to keep a class I medical for my current shrug job as an airline captain, but so far the ol' body has been cooperating.

The first picture was in the chocks in ATL before the flight. In the up left corner of the nav display you can see the GS (grounds speed) is zero. In the next photo you can see the terrain displayed showing the Grand Tetons ( peaks in red because they are higher than me ). That last is a look through the Heads Up Display. The scan rate of the HUD does not lend itself to "kiss" cameras. but it is basically a monochrome copy to the Primary Flight Display (PFD) on the left side of pic 2.

The right attitude: Jimmy Buffett, of course... I have a repertoire of aviation songs from here and there (Pink Floyd is easy, right) and a couple of CDs made by and for pilots, Kilbourne's "Cloudbase" of course. When I was going to buy an airport, I bought several copies of _Six Days and Seven Nights_. I have _Wings_ on VHS. My copy of _Pancho's Happy Bottom_ is autographed. I could go on all day... I have an envelope cancelled on both sides of the Atlantic aboard the _Hindenburg_. What I don't have is much active time. I lost my medical. It happens eventually...

You got to have the Ragnar hat when you fly. It makes everything logical and it give your the proper attitude. Attitude is critical in flight.
