Had an Interesting Thought Watching Face the Nation

So, this morning my wife had Face the Nation on the tv. That "reporter" host is such an annoying leftist. Anyway - As he was questioning the Trump advisor over the recent step-up in enforcing immigration laws a thought occurred to me. What if the current administration stopped talking to the media? It's clear to me that the mainstream "news" media is on the attack. The few times I hear them I wait, anxiously, for something of substance - something I can use. Instead, all we're getting is "Why are you enforcing the nation's laws?" or "How long has the President been a Russian operative?" There's no longer any substance as the morning national shows have just become a war front of words. What if this administration just stopped showing up, stopped trying to explain what they're doing?

Another idea, what if he stopped talking to the MSM and instead invited lesser celebrated but substantially followed independent news sources to the White House, not necessarily Conservative. He'd erase the MSMs relevance and more than likely force them to change simply to have a place at the table. Further, those he invited would attain a level of respect the MSM has grown drunk on and, hopefully, steward that respect with the character and objectivity that the news media is supposed to provide.

Trump is taking this a step further, by inviting them but not taking any of their questions. This is a truly humiliating experience and embarrassment for their inflated, self important egos. The question is whether or not they will understand the lesson.

You're right, I doubt they do. They have been drunk with their role as mouthpiece for the left, if they aren't the left themselves, that they feel they should call the shots and shape and direct public opinion.

I'm still fully convinced by President Trump but I can't yet seriously fault him for much of what he's already done.

Greetings AJA! I know this is way off topic and will beg forgiveness from Abaco, but I see you were just here and wanted to say I just downloaded and read "The Vostok Revelation" while on the train between Florida and NY a few days ago. I enjoyed the read very much but you can't leave it hanging like this!!!! When's the rest of the story coming out?

With that said, the Kindle version could use some editing (or at least what I received could). There were missing or transposed words in sentences and even the wrong words inserted in some places. A few sentences looked like you changed your mind in what you intended but didn't completely erase the unwanted portion. The dates in some of your titles need to be fixed. For example, I understand the jump in centuries from 19-something to 22-something, but then November 2239 moves to January 2339 followed by January 2239. I suspect it should have been November 2239 to December 2239 to January 2240? Or did I miss something in the dates?

Odd, I went over things very carefully. I will look at it again tonight specifically to find those matters and make changes where needed.

I've already got 1/3 of the next installment written. Part of it was extracted from the Vostok revelation because it went beyond the scope of the story, a revelation.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for seeing anything I may have missed.

When the moderator asks a question that obviously has an agenda in it, rather than a fact finding question, I would prefer the person to dissect the question and rip it apart rather than giving an answer that the moderator clearly doesn't want.

I love this suggestion but know that if this were to happen they would edit the video so that what they showed on TV would make a fool of the person.

I honestly prefer the thought of cutting off the Liberal media completely and inviting reporters that they want to talk to. It shouldn't take long for the Left leaning media to feel the drain.

Re: "What if this administration just stopped showing up, stopped trying to explain what they're doing?" The mainstream media would love for this to happen, because then they would dominate the narrative. I'm sure they're not pleased that they have to invite Trump's people on their programs in order to show some semblance of "balance".

The most dangerous aspect of a ridiculously biased media is that we will end up not having a clue who to believe, so we will believe no one. There will be a knock at the door and off we go.

I have cut OUT 90% of my news watching. I only watch a little of FOX, and NONE of any of the others. I dont even know who advertises with these leftist media people, but I would find ways of simply avoiding their products at this point. My interest in hollywood movies has dropped about 80% after they came out for Hillary, and stupid shows like THE VIEW are definitely on my "do not waste time on" list.
We as a nation watch too much sports and news, for the simple benefit of the advertisers. We should pay more attention to OUR lives instead of theirs.

There is not much factual information in the mainstream media. Just politically motivated sound bites, spin, and biased reporting. I wish Trump would just stop talking to them.

Might not be a bad idea for the admin to just shut up. Maybe not good for everyone else who wants to know what's going on. But, that's not Trump's style. He likes the camera on him as isn't about to stop.

The press has been the way you describe for many years now. It is just much more obvious now than at any other time.
It has even spread to the "Social Media" . Tuning algorithms so they down play one side of the new while pushing the other. There are many ways to view this approach to "reporting". I think of what my father said about the reporting in th and on the Viet Nam conflict. Read what is said very carefully, believe only hald and that half should be viewed through a contrarian lens. (i.e. take the opposite of what is said). The coverups for the favorite politician hit full strice with Kennedy and have never slowed down.

Raises another question, Why were you watching Face the nation :) ?

    +1

I know. My wife likes tv noise and it was on while I was in the room. Pretty annoying...

Regarding social media...I no longer exist in that realm. The stupidity mixed with vitriol post election was too much for me and I now barely exist anywhere...(just here, pretty much)
