Not a fan. He's a big fan of the drug war and the patriot act, both of which have been both colossal wastes of money and manpower, as well as rights-violating policies.

  If I've got my civics right, the governor of Alabama will appoint someone. Since Bentley is a Republican, we should have another Republican senator.

    Alabama has on occasion held an election to fill the vacant spot. I do think that the Governor would appoint a replacement in this case.
    I am sure that Alabama would elect a republican if an election were held, but not sure the Gov would want to change it.
