With the top rated local CBS affiliates evening news They had a report on homelessness in the land of sky blue waters. The reporter stated proudly that the number 1 reason for this was the people couldn't afford a home. Brilliant!

Wat an gross over simplification! Some people do not want the responsibility of a home. I sat on a diversity council locally, where one man with a good paying factory insisted on living in his car, actually telling those who wanted to "help" him, that he did not want the responsibility. Homes are re financial sponsibilities and upkeep on a large scale. Some people don't make the choices to afford a home, as they would rather drink, smoke, do drugs or take cruises, than plunk down thousands for a home. My brother could well afford a home, but hates to mow grass and do repairs, so he rents and apt. It serves the goal of the bureaucrats to believe they cn't afford it, then tell us why? What do they really value, what are they willing to spend money for, what choices are they making?

Homelessness is caused by people who can't afford homes? Why, that's irrefutable logic.
Car crashes are caused by cars hitting something.
Some diseases are caused by viruses.
Divorces are caused by people who no longer want to stay together.
Mud pies are not as tasty as apple pies.
I'm so glad that these things are pointed out to my pointy little head.
    Dumbed down?
    Dumbed out.

Later in the broadcast they were reporting on the sentencing of 9 Isis wanna be 's from
Al Minneapolis and the leader got 35 years and the same reporter asked her colleague is there anyone looking out for him? That is why I make no effort to hear the news.

Dumb can also be trying to look smart.
For 21 years in every Alabama Department Of Corrections memo whether posted on a wall or sent to me to read would always and I mean always contain some form of three basic words which are (1) implement, (2) facilitate and (3) utilize. Me dino noticed this during the first six months when I was a trainee back in 1982.
Quite often all three would be used.
Yes, I wrote "used." A Bama DOC memo writer would recoil in horror at the thought of using any form of so base a word as the base word "use."
"Used" would just have to be substituted by "utilized" each and every time.
Never saw "to do" or "do it" or "use it" in any similar form. No, that kinda English was too freaking simple to feel self-important..

LOL,I was at the Salvation Army and I bought a previously utilized book. The story was of a sanitation engineer and the implementation of his
Refuse transporter to expel the previously utilized
Items he had gatherered , the act of expelling the waste facilitated his exit from the facility. I am used to being less explicate.

You've caused me to recall when I controlled the back gate from Tower 4 at the prison. Part of my job was to lower a shotgun with a rope to the garbage escort officer and keep watch with an AR-15 while a couple of inmates push trash cans on carts outside to the dumpers across the drive that encircles the prison fence.
Then came my first day when the garbage truck arrives and I've been told to announce it to the shift office on my hand radio.
I tell the shift office that "the garbage truck has arrived."
I get an angry rebuke from a lieutenant: "That's Waste Management and that's all you call it!"
Off the air I'm all like "Well, woopy do! That's a big bad for a fancy "waste management" stupid garbage truck I see a-coming!"

Perhaps I could afford better an apartment if the
City government had not so arrogantly condemned
the building I was living in, in which I had gotten a-
long fine for a long time with the rental company. No, I am not homeless yet, but who knows?
    (It was claimed that a wall was "falling down";
actually, there were a few loose bricks).

Sorry to hear of the condemnation of your apt.
I hope you are able to resettle in an improved space for less rent . Of course you know my post wasn't meant to denigrate the homeless it was the #1 reason for being homeless.

Actually I have been paying more rent in another
place (same company) for two years.(I had a job
when I took the place). Been trying to get into pub-
lic housing (I don't like that idea at all, but then I
wouldn't have to sponge on family and friends so
much. And maybe I could eventually get a job,
and pay in a private place again. I think many
people are being forced into dependency on the
        government this way).

The statement that homeless are that way because they can't afford a house is one of those accepted liberal "facts" that is not necessarily true. When I lived in the People's Democratic Republic of California (PDRC) the weather was generally nice enough that you could spend most of the time outside. There were homeless camps by the Sacramento and American Rivers. If it got hot they jumped into the river. If it got cold they could go to a shelter. If they got hungry they went to the soup kitchen. If they were jonesing for a fix they begged until they got enough. No house payment, no tax, no mowing, no responsibility and plenty of fresh air.

LOL, I know what you mean. These people forget (or just don't know, or don't want to know) there are normal cycles of cooling and warming of the oceans and the atmosphere even NOAA has recorded this and the researchers that study archeological weather know this fact. I ‘m not going to say it’s fake of fact just do your own critical analysis of the “scientific” data at NOAA and NASA.
