Perfect illustration - love it! Thanks for sharing. Of course it might be more precisely true to say that the Feds shear the more productive citizens and give the sweaters to the least productive. Oh, and they also take a BIG share of the wool for themselves before distributing the sweaters (in return for their votes in the next election).

There's more. All that knitting skill and labor needs some compensation, probably at union wages. And remember that the wool is a renewable resource, no depletion allowance required. And the sheep should be charged an extra fee for relieving it of all that surplus weight and undeveloped raw material. And charged for parking, and for the barber service. Of course, that the result is an actual well-proportioned and useful sweater is a rarity. In actual practice it would be a shapeless, ill-designed clump not fit for anyone in the long run.
