DT and HC had no concern for, and didn't mention, Constitutionality or the Constitution once. This should scare the sh*t out of every American. My 2 bits.
Truthy. Of course, much of the debate, if you can call it that, was Trump warding off the attacks of both Clinton and the moderator. The latter saw what happened when Matt Lauer asked a tough question of the Hildebitch, and must have decided he would prefer to continue going to upscale liberal parties than treat the candidates fairly.
what did they expect when they appointed a member of the black entitled class as moderator. He interrupted Trump, let Hillary slide, asked embarrassing questions of Trump, and let Hillary totally slide on the Clinton Foundation, her email scandal, and her buying off the FBI. A debate is NOT what this was.
There hasn't been a debate since Perot, and that was only because of Perot. Thta is the reason why the one party system will never allow any third party to participate unless they control them.
I voted for Perot actually. AS I remember, he got about 20% of the vote. Since then, no third party candidate has gotten anywhere close to that, with Johnson at like 7%. The culture of the country has definitely degenerated. I bet most of the young people couldnt spell constitution, let alone know anything about ours.
I voted Perot as well. Johnson is no Perot. And yes, the sucking sounds of jobs leaving is a loud, sustained, resounding, and clearly heard whistle today. Johnson isn't the answer, only slightly moreso that DT or HC,
I would agree. Hildebeast will cut jobs here with the $15/hr minimum wage and increased taxes and regulation. Trump cant do a lot to "bring jobs back". Increasing import duties wont do it, just increase costs and decrease the volume of business. Cutting corporate taxes is nice, but isnt going to make jobs come back. Johnson might just do NOTHING, which is better than anything proposed so far !!
As long as people consent to slavery under Hitlery or Trump, Johnson won't be the answer. There is a VAST, not slight, difference in favor of Johnson over the scum who participated in the debate. I agree Johnson is not Perot. Perot was a far superior presenter, but Perot quit when he had the opportunity to change America for the better. He QUIT, and only returned when he had DESTROYED his chance, just as the statists wanted. They let Perot into the debate because he was under statist control. Johnson is not under statist control.
Johnson's polling numbers dropped significantly after he was excluded from the debates, just as the statists who control the debates (and the media) want. They only let candidates they control into the debates.
ABSOLUTELY. The system is indeed rigged against third parties or anyone outside of the establishment. That included Sanders too. Trump hijacked the Repub party- much to their disdain.
So...are you inferring that the debates could be used as a laxative? Neither candidate is a Ted Cruz, so expecting references to the Constitution is probably asking too much. At least half the debate was about inconsequentialities. In 1945 the world series had most of the best players in the military, prompting a sportscaster to say, "I don't think either side can win."
Hi Herb, "I don't think either side can win" Great analogy we have a country that has been run into the ground and these two inept and entitled elite blowhards are our option. Of the two Trump is better on the acknowledgement of the 20 trillion in debt and the exodus of jobs . I believe he mentioned the second amendment and I have not witnessed Trump selling access to the US arsenal for donations to his foundation. The problem is An epidemic of collectivism and altruistic control through media including entertainment , Education Plus more control of healthcare. I think we have already lost. Time for a new game. It is called adhere to The Constitution. With out that the rest is .........
You are right. The USA never achieved its potential and is now on the decline. It was a magnificent attempt. I doubt, that it will ever reach the heights of the past let alone surpass them. It is one of the saddest things I (and many others) have had to endure.
Hello AJAshinoff, The deliberations of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 were held in strict secrecy. Consequently, anxious citizens gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings ended in order to learn what had been produced behind closed doors. The answer was provided immediately. A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.” (Benjamin Franklin)
As goes the Constitution so goes the Republic... Regards, O.A.
Actually Trump did mention the second amendment a few times. But he fell headlong onto the trap of the watch list.
There was also a distinct lack of morality based positions. There was some good. Ack and forth zingers toward the end though. I think her comeback on stamina was solid, as was his on experience.
I did watch and must have missed them. To be honest though, it was difficult to tolerate a blow-hard and a chronic and delusional liar for very long without doing something constructive within earshot. Thanks.
well there is the debate drinking game ... but if you actually took a drink on each utterance of the "trigger words" (what I think they should be called) you'd have taken over 75 shots so ... if considering it I'd advise caution. ;)
This would only be a good response if the bar is next door to the debate and the drunks were inspired to break in to the debate and beat both candidates and the biased moderator to unconsciousness. Of course the result on Hitlery would be an improvement (for both her physical condition and the country.)
I didn't watch them either. I get too stressed out and nervous when the Liberal media are the stars and are out to get anyone who isn't a socialist, which of course is what HC is. I'll get the highlights and the commentary on Fox News this morning. I watched a baseball game instead....so sue me.
I've always been into conquering fear--even when it makes me cringe. As for last night, I can't stay away from a horror show if only for peeking at it.
Good for you, Dino. I admire anyone who can conquer their fears. Me, I'm into avoiding them. That's why I have returned to reading Jane Austen and Poldark novels. I need to give the Hilldebeast and Obozo a rest ever so often..
I recall an instructor at annual training who said, "I know every time you enter that prison, your blood pressure goes up a tad." Before I worked 21 years at a max near Birmingham, my first 6 months was spent at a medium security prison at Atmore, AL, where I lived two blocks from the Florida line (Guess where I always went on my days off). Recall two stories told at that place. 1. New officers arrive after being trained at Selma for a few weeks (dang, can't remember how many weeks after all these years). One looks back as the barred gate slides shut to a pronounced clang behind him. He keeps staring for a few long seconds as his companions continue up a hall to the shift office that's on the opposite side of the prison. He starts to follow his companions when he suddenly hurries back and waves for the cubical officer to let him out that gate. That newbie is never seen again. 2. A visiting state trooper has some reason to go to the shift office when inmates are visibly walking around in the hall between the cell blocks. He never does. He refuses to take off his firearm even though he can carry a baton like the rest of the corrections officers. So he is not allowed to enter. "Bye, big bad trooper, have a nice day. Snicker! Snicker!" (Not to his face. That would be rude).
Interesting stories. I can see why your blood pressure would go up a tad, but you stuck it out and didn't give into your fears. You are one admirable dino.
I dont think the debate was worth the 90 minutes I wasted watching it. I dont like to even listen to Hildebeast prattling on about how she will grow the economy while raising tax rates and minimum wage, not to mention putting in more regulations. As a small business owner, I will surely retire and sell out if she is elected.
The country is full of rumors . . . . People . . . don't believe the best speakers . . . . There's no confidence left . . . . that if they'll just be patient a little longer, things will improve and prosperity will return. They don't believe any public official any more. -- Atlas Shrugged, Pt. 3, Ch. III, Anti-Greed
they key is "There's no confidence left" and that has been deliberately cultivated. The end result,as intended all along, external governance and an end to the Great Experiment and its Constitution..
DTs role from the onset, I fear. Prior to the experience of DT Barum the Ds had a snowballs chance in hell of winning in 2016 thats to O's monumental failed in every conceivable way.
Today, we get a choice full leftist or moderate leftist..no constitutional candidate. Why did DT not lambaste her in the area of credibility and accountability? Why not ineptitude? Why not treason? Why did he hold back and conduct himself defensively?
2 years ago the idea of a D winning would have been laughable.
I would say Holt lost the debate as the horrible moderator who actually got the Constitution issue wrong on law enforcement. He also got it wrong on the stupid birther issue that will not die. We all know that is fake, but let historians take it one now. Trump proved he could stay in control, and Hillary was medicated enough to not scream, where's her 50%, or do facial gyrations. So, it was pretty boring, but Trump needed to proved he could not be prodded into hysteria. Now, he needs to learn how not to let her set the discussion, just end hers as not of issue. His tax return is not her business, she has too many unanswered questions of her owm - like why was she went to Iran secretly to crash and get brain damage, and then lied about it?.Why did Trump appoint Kerry thinking she was going to die? Oh, she has so much to answer. Like why did she approve selling 50% of the uranium in 4 western US states to Russia, via a deal Bill brokered through a Canadian company? He once again ended up sevearl hundred million richer. Is that not conflict of interest? If she is saying nuclear war is the top issue, why did she allow uranium sales to an enemy? It is pretty clear Hillary sees the Constitution as something to go around, like on guns, property rights (Agenda 21), free speech (climate discussion). I am not sure most of those came up, as good points about the Constitution. I think Trump is more for the Constitution, but more as a layman, like us, than like our self proclaimed "Constitutional scholar" Obama, who makes a practice of shredding it.
I resented having to listen to Hildebeast go on and on about her statist control ideas. Trump did stand his ground, but let her set the items for discussion.
Hillary is as crooked a politician as I have ever seen, but its a different time. Cronyism is paramount today, and thats why I am voting for Trump to maybe, maybe slow it down a bit and expose it for us all to see.
I loved the interview with the former mayor of NYC. He is a straight shooter. I would love to see HIM "debate" with Hildebeast !!
I agree. I also love Rudy, and hope if Trump is elected he puts him to good use. I am so sick of the Clinton's making millions while in the employ of the taxpayers, using their positions. Why is no one concerned over the millions missing from the State Dept. under her watch. I am also sick of her being called Sec. of State, that is history, while she calls everyone else by their first names, it makes me boil. She wants respect, but gives none.
Did she tell Trump that i what she wanted to be called, Sec. of State? He asked her during the debate and said he wanted her to be happy. I remember how spastic Pelosi went when a general referred to her as Mam, instead of Madam Speaker, what ego.
Hildebeast is out for HERSELF only. Why people could possibly think she will care about anyone else amazes me. She wants votes not, and then she will just wield power, give nothing to people, then ask for votes in 4 years. Trump is right about that.
It is a shame that the average American's mental ability does not exceed 30 seconds worth of propaganda. My attitude towards Al Jazira aside, I do value the structure of their programming - they take a particular subject and calmly, intelligently discuss it, with ample time for opposing views. You won't see that on CNN or Fox.
That sounds better. I have sworn OFF CNN as being way to biased and arrogant. FOX is better, but I just want intelligent discussion, not "fair and balanced". I am tired of propaganda and agendas. I will turn OFF Hillary whenever she or her henchmen are speaking- I just dont want to fill my mind with that drivel anymore.
I like getting news on the internet, mostly because I can quickly scan and read what I want and dont have to listen to humans prattle on about their agendas. 'I have never seen the news organization that you speak of. I shall have to try it.
Al Jazeera is an Arab channel, run out of the Emirates or something like that. They are most biased, there's no question about that. But I do appreciate and respect their presentation style - they do not threat the listener or the viewer as a total idiot who is not capable of any thought but what the media tells him. Once you watch it, you can appreciate the different attitude and could only wish that an average American could be as intelligent as an average Third World citizen.
And you can see how far HE got in this corrupt culture. Rand was right in that politics is useless if the philosophical basis of the society is flawed as it is today.
My opinion is simple: Donald Trump is about personality. Hillary Clinton is about policy. Neither of them can keep a promise. Neither of them has a purpose with which I can identify.
In comparing the two, I would have to conclude that one favors policy and one favors personality. The one favoring policy favors it so she can avoid personal attacks. The one favoring personality favors that so he can avoid detailed critical thinking. Neither of the candidates cares much for promises, particularly the one regarding protecting the constitution.
My wife and I watched the debate for about 30 min.. My wife who has been a RN for thirty years made a diagnosis that Hillary was smiling way to much than a normal person. Then her run on talk ignoring Trump or the moderator showed that she could be on some mood elevating medication or a product that has a similar effect. Today, I had an appt. with my Doctor that got me off a psychotropic medication that I was taking for years that damaged my health; we discussed the debate and she considered that it was possible that Hillary was medicated. So, there you have it two diagnosis of Hillary by medical professionals.
I could only handle about 45 minutes of sound bytes then I had to change the channel. Hillary was well coached in presenting unrelated concepts that sounded great but had no merit - ie "trickle down economics" caused the last recession. It was the collapse of the housing market created by the federal governments "affordable housing act" in my view that resulted in the collapse. Trump missed an excellent opportunity to respond "John F. Kennedy lowered taxes to help the economy" after he was elected - and was a Democrat. Maybe her concussion wiped out that part of her memory. I too voted for Perot. I thought he made sense with his grafts and explanations. His VP candidate looked like a deer in headlights I suspect that cost him the election. I didn't hear either of them discuss the 19 trillion spent on the "War on Poverty" and the resulting brake up of the family unit - unless that was after I tuned out. Ronald Reagan said it best: "The government is the problem, not the solution." Still looking for a real life Gault's Gulch.
I thought Trump bombed. I waited and waited for him to really go for the jugular and he just kind of flailed away. He got baited into talking about his taxes for too long. Didn't go after the Foundation. When she mentioned integrity he had a great soundbite opportunity served up on a platter, tee'd up with driver in hand - and nothing... She seemed well prepared.
That becomes a little problematic for those of us who (to varying degrees) have thrown our support to the one candidate (Trump) who has spoken out championing the Constitution (Ex: 2nd amendment) and the protection of it by the appointment of Constitutional Justices to the Supreme Court. Many of us are very concerned about this relentless assault on our Constitutional protections. Especially by the progressive hoards on the left. If this critical plank slips off the radar, the issues surrounding its defense becomes magnified.
We have degenerated into a mob rule government to be used by the "IN" people against the ones who are not "IN". Hildebeast is the poster child for this, and is the basis for her support. She says "stand with me" so she can get to run the country. The stupid people who vote for her are led to think that Hillary will "stand with them" if they give her votes. In reality, Hillary stands with Hillary and the people who give her $$ through contributions to her "charity" and her campaigns. She enjoys a good life for herself only for 4 years, and then asks for votes from the people who she has deceived.
Constitutionality only impedes this process, which is why its pretty much dead today.
Like bsmith51, we watched for awhile, then decided on something else. Ended up watching "Designated Survivor" online as we missed the initial showing last Wednesday. It was quite interesting and a definite departure from the debate.
Five minutes in, we decided watching the debate would be like Ipecac to an alcoholic. So we moved on to more productive endeavors, like beating Freecell on the computer.
That is very scary. I wont live long enough to see the total collapse of the country (like venezuela), but we are headed there. If Hillary wins, its coming faster I think. Trump would slow it down a bit. He should put the former mayor of NYC in as Atty General.
I was an avid watcher as I was hoping some clue regarding Hillary's real health issues would show itself again. Except for a small prolonged shimmy, I was disappointed. I find that aspect of this presidential season fascinating. The lengths she is willing to go to to hide her problems! It's like a slow-moving political mystery movie playing out before our eyes! LOL
Yes, not one of them appreciate nor know, our constitution and That Is indeed, scary.
Trumpet should have pointed out what "Progressivism" has done to Free Market capitalism.
One has the ability to articulate bull crap and the other can't articulate much at all...
Also, trumpet should have relied upon his tax cuts to keep businesses here in the states instead of relying on strong man tactics...That in my view is his biggest failure.
Yeah he really missed the moment on the tax thing. The "helping the rich" would have been best responded to with: "First of all, not taking money from people by force or the threat of it, isn't "helping" them, it is the right thing to do. So taking less away from them by force is still a better position. Not taking something away from someone isn't giving them things. You don't have a right to people's income, they do. To paraphrase Obama: you didn't earn that. Second, my tax cuts are for everyone, not just the rich. I don't see why you have problem with cutting taxes on everyone. Maybe its your judgement that it is ok to discriminate against people because you want what they have. But that isn't mine. Third, the whole "trickle-down" garbage was a Democrat creation, not something a Republican has ever promoted or implemented. Cutting taxes for everyone isn't trickling anything to anyone, it is the right thing to do. Unless, that is, you want to win by class warfare and dividing the country on phony lines for your benefit rather than theirs."
Everyone would have gone apecrap over that kind of response and it would be probably all we'd be hearing about today. And the "You didn't earn that" would probably become quite the quip clip.
Hillary revealed one thing about Donald that is quite telling. Donald received 14 million dollars from his father and built it into a multibillion dollar enterprise. Donald's businesses have employed thousands of workers. Did Hillary think he built those building by him self? This shows how stupid she is. Yes he had some failures, but did he invest millions knowing he would fail, of course not. what has this dunce named Hillary ever done that has been productive for the country in her 30/40 years as a supposed civil servant, gotten people killed as far as I know. The elites dislike Donald because he has accomplished more in his life than all of them in their combined lives. Having had some interaction with politicians I find it very difficult to understand how he will engage with them once elected president which I am sure is going to happen. He simply does not speak their language. Will he be a good president; given the choice it does not matter to me; if not him I'd vote for mickey mouse. With Donald as president the constitution will not be changed, not to worry.
What has Hillary done? She's made herself powerful appealing to people's baser instincts, and rich furthering other peoples' interests by selling influence.
A debate is NOT what this was.
