I am being FORCED! to sign up for medicare.
Just because I will turn 65 early next year, I am being FORCED to sign up for medicare...even though I am Not retiring, even though I am covered by the VA and even though I want Nothing to do with this program.
There is nothing valuable for me in medicare...I'll never use it...yet I am being forced to pay in for the sake of everyone else.
How are we supposed to take care of ourselves if we are forced to take care of everyone else.
Does anyone know how I can get out of this, without dying and without leaving the country and denouncing my citizenship.

The Germ
A mighty creature is the germ,
Though smaller than a pachyderm.
It's foolish pride it often pleases,
By giving people strange diseases.
Do you dear reader feel infirm?
You probably contain a germ.

I'm the kind of human where if cut, I'll put a piece of duct tape on it and in the morning you'd never know anything happened there.
What I'm waking up to is the fact that I've passed the 70 year point and have been informed that Medicare isn't going to pay for most of the preventive care that they've been pushing me to get. But of course all of those stories about "death panels" are just conspiracy theories, right?
It seems so bogus. They should say exactly what they think she should have done and why. Are they saying they pay all taxes and fees they're legally required to pay but think it's wrong to take payment or tax deduction/credit they don't believe in.
I pay every tax I'm required to. I never buy personal things though the business. I never lie on the Workers' Comp audit about which employees touched a soldering iron - it doubles the cost compared to if they just did software. If there's some way to get money that's worthwhile I take it, even if I think it's dumb that I send them money and have to ask for it back. This year I'm getting a tax credit for home improvements b/c my house is registered as historic. There's critics would say I should not take these credits if I don't believe in them. But they expect me to pay all legally required taxes even though I don't agree with the drug war or a global network of military bases.
This is us such a lame argument. Since almost everyone pays taxes and gets some benefits from the gov't, they could use this argument on anyone.
Ragnar tells Rearden he has saved up gold for him. Rearden says he does not want a filthy pirate's money. Ragnar says "I'm merely returning what was stolen from you,"

I watched the neflix show called: "The 100"...really gives you a sense of where we might find ourselves at some point...the greater good is bantered about a lot...although it does show the dichotomies involved.
Guess I was going along baa baa thinking this is what you do.
At the same time got supplemental health insurance with Colonial Penn. It's pretty good.
Shortly thereafter I picked up dental insurance with Physicians Mutual that really helped out due to problems now solved.
I'm now collecting money paid into Social Security since I started working jobs since age 14.
More of a monthly income comes from the Alabama Retirement Systems because I used to be a state worker.
Y'all can throw rocks if ya want. At age 70 I'm not gonna stop taking that income.
But to that I would say, go work in a maximum security for 21 years. Someone has to do it.
Maybe some day robots will be used with zapper devices.
I don't really know why.
Maybe it's human nature akin to showing off wealth or a trophy wife.
Me dino has my good side, me dino has my bad side and me dino has my in between side.
Me dino be kinda like this guy~

During the 70s took dates to a disco in Tuscaloosa and one I met at a brother's wedding to a disco near her Marietta home in Atalanta.
That Georgia 'un a real nice memory cough cough nudge nudge know what I mean?
Danced it up in Birmingham clubs through the 80s until I met my ex.
Come to think of it, my last dance was with my ex.
Old dino be twinkle toes no longer.
Type 2 diabetes makes my feet hurt.
Poking? The Marines and the DOC trained me to fight but not to poke all that much.
If some one challenged me to a fight at this falling apart point in my life, old dino would just pull a gun and tell him to get out of my face. Who has something to prove at age 69?
Should try some magnetic insoles for them there feet. My wife (DB 1) has perfect circulation due to wearing the insoles.
~BUT!~
When I was half grown my mother walked into my bedroom. There I was in front of a large mirror pretending I was playing a guitar along with the music a 45RPM rock n' roll song on my little dinky record player thingie.
Might have been Elvis. That part I do not remember.
Anyway come Christmas I was surprised to receive what had to be a gift-wrapped guitar.
"Oh, hot golly!" little dino thought as he unwrapped his guitar looking present. "Future rock-n'- rolling cool baby me just got me a guitar!"
I got a guitar all right. Printed on it was a cowboy on a horse spinning a lasso.
It also came with an instruction book and I kinda started to learn how to play chords but there was always that way uncool cowboy on a horse spinning that freaking lasso.
Think little dino would be caught dead playing that guitar in front of any of my friends with a way uncool cowboy on a horse spinning that freaking lasso? Not me-ee!
Who knows? With enough practice, I may have eventually learned to play the guitar like Jimmy Hendrix or Slash. But no-oo!
Instead, my folks just had to give me a guitar with a way uncool cowboy on a horse spinning that freaking lasso.
You Gulchers with kids, listen up! You want to advance your child's musical education or performing arts advancement of freaking anything?
Don't buy him or her anything that in any way resembles, parallels or is as psychologically mind-warping as a way uncool cowboy on a horse spinning a freaking lasso!
I'll say it once and I'll say it again and again.
It's been years and years and years, but to this very day, old dino really hates that WAY UNCOOL COWBOY ON A HORSE SPINNING THAT FREAKING LASSO! AURGH!
My first guitar was my grandfathers stringless "Tennor" guitar (4 strings), that I put old piano strings on till my paper route made enough to by a 6 string and 3.00 for lessons each week.
Do you still have it...has to be a collectors item?
Put a sheet over it and take it to a collector.
My deceased mother played the piano, the organ and was the choir leader at the local Catholic church.
I do the insurance billing for a doctor, and when I bill medicare claims I have to bill some $0.01 codes that we don't get paid for, but they report whether or not you are a smoker, drinker etc. We do not get paid for these charges, but once or twice a year they send us a check. When the AR lady asked me which category to put the payment in Quickbooks, I asked if she had a category for bribes.
After filling a claim patients will start getting a questionnaire to fill out about there entire experience with that doctor visit and the doctor will be reimbursed according to his reviews.
Insert many nasty words here.
Then the other shoe dropped two months later when I got an EOB (Explanation of Benefits from the carrier of medicare in this state. The eye center had charged $336 and after my part they get paid by government $276. SOOOO
I figure I got a bone and the eye center got the meat. And the taxpayer got bred. Corruption and graft follows the intrusion of government monies into an enterprise.
i have become vegan and grow my own food trying to stay away from socialized medicine...so far so good, but i will never get any younger...i wish you the best, but be prepared for the worst...
I see a chiropractor from time to time...managing an ancient injury very nicely. I pay cash, which is cheaper than the copay was when I had ins. form work.
The answer? Stop voting for evil. Stop buying corrupt corporatocracy products made with chinese (et al) slaves.
Don't get ins at work, I'm per diem. Just go to the VA once a year.
Thanks and you have a great day too...gota go to work now.
I tried opting out of medicare back in the late 60s and early 70s, after getting a pay up or else letter from a guy named Mr. LORD from Kansas City, I payed up and take the monthly stipend. I have used it with a heart attack through the local non-profit health service chain and have had to pay about $6000 in fees on about $130,000 costs. I have noticed that they have special contracts with Medicare where they accept what Medicare pays and write off the rest. The yearly Medicare wellness visit for about $500 seems like a pure ripoff for the taxpayer since it does nothing. The doctor just threw in a thorough physical for an extra $300 so I had to pay another deductible. The reason I took it was that the doctor said he might cut off my heart meds if I didn't even though the visit is not required by medicare.
As for the VA, if you have nearby places, like here in WI, you could get by with that. My brother has not had an emergency by ambulance yet so I don't know what they do with you for that. For my heart attack, medicare paid all but $270 of the $1600 40 mile ambulance trip to the stent installation hospital in Milwaukee. Nothing to do there for four days with a few crummy TV channels and absolutely no reading material matter and nearly no sleep due to being awakened about every half hour for tests and with auto blood pressure cuff expanding.
The ins co I talked to yesterday said that even thought I have the VA, I still have to pay for medicare for everyone else.

I think they should just give vets money to buy their own care rather than building a network of hospitals that aren't all that great.
This is the correct way of saying it, but it's odd that it was not always private. Suppose we wanted to make sure vets never went without food, transportation, and shelter. We wouldn't create a gov't network grocery agency, taxi agency, and home agency. It's hard for me to imagine why they just didn't go to existing providers, give them money that could only spent on insurance policies that didn't take war injuries into account in underwriting, or something. It's odd that they built hospitals. That would not occur to me.
I too do not want to sign up for MCare but I resent that I will not see any return on the money I have been forced to invest in MCare and SS if I do not sign up for both. I want my money back!
I too do not intend to retire, which sounds boring and fraught with peril, so I will continue to have my work insurance - but apparently I am not allowed to not let MCare interfere with me medical life.
If you find additional info, please post it. I will look again to see if I can find the mandatory MC-SS requirement and post the link if I do.

In this country, no one should be forced to sign on to any program, especially a govt. program. For over 3 years, The Convention of States Project has been trying to get States to sign on to a Constitutional Article 5 convention of states in order to propose amendments to rein in the scope and power of the Federal Govt., limit spending and taxes, curtail unconstitutional executive orders, redefine the public welfare and commerce clauses, limit regulations from unelected bureaucrats that have the force of legislation, limit terms of legislators and judges and give States the final say on Supreme Court decisions. There are 8 States that have signed on and many more with proposals in their legislatures. Learn more at conventionosstates.com and sign the petition.
My employer hired me, per-diem and I make a lot more money that way.
My physician crabs about his level of reimbursement and the insane expenses his group must pay to remain compliant. The greater the complinace with government regulations the greater the reimbursement. The whole system is a diaster unless, of course, you can't pay then you get a free ride. And we pay for it.
Have they come to your door with a gun yet?
Supposedly, they can come after me for not signing up and take the money from me...I'm Pis'ed.
I could of had a private screening on line last night but I forgot and deleted the link...
Not to mention...other that one of the emergencies above, there is Nothing allopathic medicine can do for me...Nothing I want them to do for me. I can take care of myself that way.
The VA takes care of a yearly check up and some advice from a Dr. that has Natural Medicine experience.
The system is stacked against people without some sort of insurance. Medical care is priced at astronomical rates for private patients, and then discounted substantially for the insurance companies.
