Just over half way through The Golden Pinnacle by Robert Gore. I find this to be on the same level as AS. If it were not summer and I had more time to read, I would not be able to put this book down. I highly recommend it.

Just finished reading it. Highly recommended. Very strong on the principles of individualism and self-reliance. Reads like a generational saga on Randian steroids.

Good thing I took a speed reading class 55 years ago. Never been so busy as when I retired. Being a professional gadfly turns out to be hard work. One satisfaction I have is that when the police state happens (against all hope) and the soldiers up the street are coming down, they won't bother with me because I'm too old. Or, perhaps not.

LOL. The Golden Pinnacle was only the second book I had read via Kindle. The first was Pendulum of Justice.

Okay, okay, I'll go out and get it. I was thinking about re-reading AS (for the third time), but then saw this post. Somehow the name "Gore" had turned me off to reading it in the past, but by now I've learned I can trust just about everyone on this site. You're a hellofabunchofgoodguysandgals, and I appreciate your civil tongues and overall civility. It's actually kind of refreshing. (And no disrespect meant to Robert Gore)

I currently have 4 "must-reads" awaiting my eyeballs. Starting Monday on the recommendation of this awesome group, I'll put them aside, order The Golden Pinnacle and it should be on my desk by the time I finish the current book. Based on current events, I sure could use some uplifting.

I would certainly watch the movie and invite many to see it. The Golden Pinnacle has many of the same positive messages as Ayn Rand books, but potentially has a larger audience because it largely leaves issues of faith or lack thereof out. In addition to Scott, I would recommend contacting the people who produced The Men Who Built America for the History Channel, as that covered some of the same topics and the History Channel has a history of high-quality, significant (yet targeted) audience productions.

I know that most Civilizations 2 courses (US History - Civil War to the present) have one textbook, but many have multiple books. Perhaps you could convince some professors who teach Civ 2 and/or Economics of the merits of such a book.

That's a thought for TGP. I suggested to Mr. DeSapio that he make a movie of TGP. That would be good advertising, too. I think he's still too busy with AS.

Scott DeSapio recommended that I contact Google about paying for ad space on Galt's Gulch for my university. I am seriously considering it.

I just ordered this book after spending over an hour on Robert's website. Sometimes I stumble on something that allows me a few brief moments to believe that there is intelligent life out there after all. Thanks for posting the lead.

We need an effective way of getting to a much larger audience. Perhaps Nascarizing the back side of the Galt's Gulch Post-It Notes would work?

When I gave my glowing review of The Golden Pinnacle at halfway, Robert Gore told me it got better. It did.

When I started The Golden Pinnacle, I was convinced there were a lot of readers who were looking for something more than that they were getting from the contemporary publishing industry. Thank you for confirming my conviction. While the book has not yet reached as wide an audience as what I hope, the Galt's Gulchers who have read it confirm another conviction: well written, challenging novels that are neither forgettable best sellers nor portentious "literary" fiction can find readers. I believe that group is substantial and I'm going to keep writing for it.

I want to say I am not surprised because the first half was that good. Now I can't wait to read the rest! Thanks a lot. LOL
