The Perseid meteor shower this year is expected to be spectacular due to Jupiter pulling the ancient comets tail debris closer to the Earths path. The comet Swift-Tuttle circles the sun every 133 years it was first chronicled in 36 AD.
The best viewing will be after midnight into dawn Friday morn.

I saw a few but unfortunately the viewing wasn't the best. I'm on a ship so the wind and the lights from the ship made it less than ideal. But still beautiful. I'll be looking again tonight.
