I would hope and pray that he's an empty shell, but his actions have proven otherwise.

He's an active enemy of the republic.

" I repeat my question: does any one of you admire and respect Obama? If yes, please explain why."
I do, to the extent I know him. I've never met him, and I don't follow the news closely. I followed it more when my business was slow last fall. My attention to the news comes and goes. I voted for him both times and when to fundraisers. He's certainly not perfect. I would be very interesting to know him and get a private answer to concerns about the precedent set by drone strikes, concerns about gov't spying on Americans, executive overreach in general, and money in politics.

Maybe I would get to know him and find he's an empty shell who will say anything to get elected. I have no idea. Maybe just learning about policy details would make me not support him. From my standpoint of casual observer, he seems to be very good, not as amazing as people's wild expectations, but very good.

For about eight bucks you can buy it here:

This is a transfer of a VHS tape. ABC-TV have never issued this title as a DVD. I sense they are deliberately suppressing it, as Columbia Pictures suppressed The Manchurian Candidate for the longest time, at the behest of Frank Sinatra, until he died and his estate decided people needed to see that film.

hm... a democracy has nothing to do with the Constitution.

A republic is what requires a Constitution...

Yes, I saw him in the opening credits. YouTube didn't seem to have the full episode. Do you have a link?

    And John Forsythe.

"YOU DEMAND?!? Let me remind you that the Internal Security Forces SUPERSEDE THE ARMY! AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT! I'll arrange your resignation so fast you won't know what hit you. You 'demand'!"

Wow! Jackie Cooper and Gene Hackman. Those are a couple of real heavy weights in acting. Too bad this didn't come about.

That might explain why this pilot failed. ABC-TV agreed to air the pilot but did not pick up the series.

Well, what I remember him from was The Patty Duke Show, I Dream of Jeannie, and Hart to Hart, all rather light and airy.

As a matter of fact, this is the same Sidney Sheldon who wrote a novel titled Bloodline, about the heiress to a multinational drug company who fought against a murderous relative to keep control of her company and find out who was trying to destroy it from inside.

    Nope.

A failed pilot for ABC-TV, created by Sidney Sheldon, and titled "Shadow on the Land." It aired in April of 1968, then again during that summer, then once or twice on the old Early Show circuit, back when the broadcast network affiliates showed movies from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. ET.

Can anyone here identify this voice-over intro?

"These [the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial,...you get the idea] are the outward symbols of democracy. A democracy we take for granted as readily as we take the water we drink.

"But democracy is a living thing--its skeleton, an idea [the Constitution]--its bloodstream, dissent--and its heart and soul, the lives and hopes of the people--ALL the people.

"But what happens if, through fear, greed, or simple laziness, the people are coerced, or persuaded to accept a dictator--a Leader whose word is the only law?

"The skeleton of democracy is destroyed.

"The bloodstream, dissent, is corraled away behind the barbed wire of dozens of concentration camps.

"The Leader's secret police terrorize the bulk of the people into acceptance.

"And the flag of that selfsame secret police flies over our land."

BHO is no longer in the caring mode - if he ever was. He no longer cares for the country, the party, or even his legacy. He will do whatever is needed to be done to complete his agendas and only those who are ethically crippled or just want to keep the job will stick with him. Those who flee are nominally rational if for no other reason than to keep their own skins from being scarred by association.

Good point. He could probably run the country in a more principled manner also. I stand corrected.
