Add one more layer to Collectivism.
Just as molecules are made up of atoms and subatomic particles - protons, neutrons, electrons form atoms we have layers upon layers in the various structures of philosophy and applied philosophy. This one I chanced upon today in the form of the political collective.
Heretofore we considered it a collection of those who were unable to think of reason or who refused to do so. Go along get along and doing as they are told to do without deviation. In orbit is sort of ruling class super molecule composed of self appointed intelligentsia with all manner of magic wands and incantations - the ruling class.
They in turn rotate around a Father Figure with yearnings to be a mother figure and the whole rotate around the Ultimate Father Figure or secular Diety - if we were talking about secular progressives and the left - for example.
It turns out the main collective has an intermediary layer called Interest Groups. Management of the whole has gotten a bit out of hand so the Ruling Class provided this assistance to it's collective.
The thin but all encompassing shell of the collective fulfills several functions. Early detection of thinking, a wall against escape, on the spot re-education camps and the like. Ordinary every day hum drum management tools. Some are a bit militaristic of course and some deal in education or the removal of same.
Some provide an illusion of the collectives governing system we call them incumbents or union bosses. and similar perjoratives. But they don't mind as they too are part of the collective though many suffer from delusions of grandeur. Congressionals are largely in this category.
Short definition is Special Interest Groups and they often are the go betwixt and between connections to other collectives.
There are more than one of these and they all have commonality especially in the Interest Groups arena.
