In the Gulch we usually deal with heavy topics. Epistemology, psychology, and all the other ologys come within our purview. There is plenty of sober stuff to work on, but I thought it would be a good idea if I injected a lighter tone every now and then, using different formats for our general interest What started me on this particular subject was when I discovered that a neighbor was a ham radio guy and it made me flash on the past CB radio craze. I'm sure all of you have some event or happening that is in some way amusing or interesting. This is one that I happened to flash on: It's 1976. Everyone has a CB radio and chats with complete strangers. It is way before the internet, but you can discuss everything from traffic to politics and remain anonymous. Remember? In my neighborhood back then Jewish Dads in the suburbs are checking for "smokys" on the way to the deli to pick up a dozen assorted bagels and a big hunk of cream cheese.
