    Capitalism actually only ensures that the best and brightest BUSINESSMEN are successful. Nikola Tesla was a scientific and engineering genius, but when it came to matters of business and finance, his skills were sorely lacking. Thomas Edison was also a genius inventor, though unlike Tesla, Edison was also a skilled businessman. As a result, Thomas Edison died a wealthy man, while Tesla died poor.

    Paris Hilton inherited most of her money.
    Tesla, though a fine inventor, had one financially fatal flaw. He sold his patent rights to Westinghouse. Granted, the situation was pretty dire. JP Morgan was savvy enough and wealthy enough to outfox Edison, Tesla, and Westinghouse. Arguably, Edison is the real John Galt. Once JP Morgan bought out Edison Electric, Edison never set foot in what became General Electric.
