I love these new motivational pictures.

Somebody needs to offer these things as a 12 month calendar. I'd buy one every year, just to see a radiant smile on her homely face,

Her words are the wisdom of the ages to come.
The next level of human civilization will be built on her genius and those she inspired.

Wonderful quote. What could be better than someone who "assumes the responsibility to think" - the world could use a lot more of that.
I was glad to see a smiling picture of Rand, I really liked that.

Who said devotion to truth is the hallmark of morality?

If my reading of history is correct, Adolph Hitler was an avid learner. Ditto with Stalin. I don't see either as a bastion of morality.

Also, what makes anyone think that "thinking" will result in a devotion to truth? Or tht the thoughts will bring one closer to a code of moral conduct?

At a surface level, this quote sounds good, but the more I dissect it, the less truth I see in it.

If someone wanted to criticize me because I already admit I don't agree with much of AR's personal philosophies, then that's fair. Or that I don't know the context of the quote so I am mis-reading it, then that is also fair. But since neither was presented as part of the graphic, I'll let my comments stand.

BTW, if John Maxwell had said it, I'd have disagreed with it the same way.

I would also add that it takes a truly humble person to be able to recognize truth in all areas because one must honestly consider any person as a potential avenue of something profound. One must absolutely avoid prejudice and similarly recognize that no one can know everything, so any new idea should enter the arena of evaluation innocent until proven guilty. That is truly a high standard.

And God made man in his own image. Creating something from nothing. She said she was an atheist, but I believe the Lord sends prophets to light the way. No matter who they are.

Morallity, that which can be a passport for breaking the law! Truth, real Truth is unreachable. It´s utopic, and we must all aspire that impossible assyntote. This "parabole" is key for all, and those who take this comment as cinicism haven´t really understood anything about values, codes and conduct. One must seek impossibles if one is to achieve anything, that which is possible is not a goal, more a barrier that must be broken and rebuilt stronger, better and more unattainable than before. This is what makes humans human!

Just a question, but did you intentionally misspell all those words (asymptote, cynicism, morality, etc.) as a form of sarcasm? Just curious...

My guess is that iilucio is thinking in Spanish and is not as fluent writing in English as some.

Ah, that would explain it. I love a good wit, but in a strictly written medium, it is sometimes difficult to determine due. Thanks.

I appollogize for my spelling, haven´t written in english in decades actually. And well, as a bilingual person I really have none to practice with. I never did get very far in spelling bees either, as a matter of fact. I have to get a dictionary and do the famous "Malcolm X" trade of rewriting it, a couple words a day for since you know, I´m kinda busy down here. Respect to all.
