Indeed, I recall one of the STNG feature-length films where one of the leading characters informed another character that, essentially, money no longer existed ... at that comment, I laughed out loud. The lack of money necessitates the lack of a price system, where the profoundly economically illiterate Bernie Sanders and his followers have a complete lack of understanding. The price system exists to communicate the value of products and services. It is very sad to see people, who should be adults, behave in their thinking like that of toddlers wrapped in entitlement.

Maybe I should qualify my comment a bit. Clintons want money for themselves, but are pissed off when others get it. Not sure how that fits into Francisco's comments, but maybe they feel money is bad, so they want to hide what they get, but emotionally they still lust for it (even though its bad). They feel better when they denigrate the money others get.

The selected paragraph is dead on...from my knowledge and observation the dislike of money usually comes from the mindless; meaning: brain only reactions...it's mystical (not all mystical thinking is religious in nature). and stems from the lack of it, a lack of ability to create value and a childhood determination "Not to be", not to be a conscious human and assume the responsibility to create value in an honest, moral way...and to beat the band, as this piece explains, those with a dislike of money are usually the one's that have usurped it form others, inherited it or are just envious because others have earned it and are admired.

I get the idea that Rand is talking about money as a medium of exchange while the New Testament is talking about "wealth".

I agree with Rand completely if she's talking about money as a medium of exchange. A medium of exchange is on the opposite end of the spectrum from the slaveholder's whip.

If she's about wealth, I think everyone should decide for themselves what they love in life. IMHO wealth is good and love are good, but they're not on the same axes.

Money deserves as much respect as does life, since it represents the part of your life you invested to earn it. Money is a piece of your life; it is portable time/energy. No wonder it is a desirable target for thieves, moochers, looters, predators. Then there are the "get-rich-quick" con artists feeding on the free-lunch crowd. But you cannot cheat an honest man.

Oh, the Clintons don't HATE money, they love it as much as any, it's just they don't want to be seen as loving money. Sort of like asking for donations but "anonymously" so that it's not in someone's name... Then you get the contributions, just not tied to anyone's name.. That's why they established the Clinton Foundation to try and hide the ties. As for Sanders, he's so built around the communist/socialist manifesto, he doesn't take into account ambition and malingering... He thinks that we live in a "Star Trek" existence where everyone contributes to society for its own good (and before you ST fans start getting riled, I'm a big ST fan). Neither are a realistic, or in my opinion, honest, view of life.

An observation: it is the individual's responsibility to find that Match. The "society" cannot, among others because it cannot know what each individual would enjoy the most working at. It is the opportunities that give each individual the chance to find the Match.
Our country is well known historically to have been and still is providing more opportunities to individuals (from illiterate Latinos to entrepreneurial PhDs from anywhere) than any other on this planet.

I say money is the way to keep score on how well you are functioning in the world and providing value to other people. It does provide creature comforts and less worry once you have it.

So maybe the Trump haters should read this. Maybe he is not so bad? Hildebeast and Sanders hate money, and negative attention should be placed on them instead of Trump.

Dont worship money. Money is just a tool, use it to get things you value. If I had a cow and wanted to trade it for magic beans, same thing. I value the beans. You might not, but they are My beans. My labor for barter, a way of trading long before cash.

In a word, Greed is good.
