For anyone who has been following this case this is a tragic development.

I'm baffled by this. It sounds like two esteemed experts disagree on her diagnosis, and the Commonwealth of Mass got involved and forced the girl to go with the expert of their choosing. If the previous diagnosis was so bad, why don't they go after that doctor's license.

I don't buy arguments that it's part of a conspiracy to for the gov't to get people used to the gov't having more authority. There's some more mundane story behind this. Whatever the real story, it's very low to get into a political battle of a person's life.

This case makes no sense to me. It's not like one of the doctors was an extremist. Isn't it two esteemed doctors who disagree? Why don't they just let the parents manage it? I would understand if the parents wanted her to have complementary and alternative medicine, which scientific evidence doesn't support. But this just sounds like a difference of opinion between two experts. Why does MA get involved at all?

He was a washed up psyche doctor that got to do a spot on Oprah. He turned that gig into his own show and now losers feel the need to talk about their problems on the TV.

It seems to me that that is big. It should make it easy for the Feds to get involved. Let's hope we get some positive news soon.

It seems that it is always hard to get custody taken away from the biological parents. This was done simply because a few doctors and one judge decided to do it. This is wrong.

The problem is, the only ones that truly have the best interests of the girl in mind, are the ones being prevented from taking the proper actions. The judge and children's hospital doctors seem now to be more concerned with justifying their earlier decisions.

I'm really sick over this. It makes no sense. It seems punitive, cruel and without any compassion for a family who is watching their daughter waste away. What is the goal of that judge? Of the state of MA for this?

Wtf is WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE??? How can this $&$@@& possibly arrived at this ruling?!? There is NO logic to it. Why the ruling to bar any appeals until summer?? Trying to cover tracks? Come up with some "evidence" that smears the parents?? I would just take her. That hospital and staff should be pilloried.

This judge needs to be investigated. His rulings make no sense. How does the state get custody of a child away from both parents?

That appears to be the direction this is heading. Of course no one will accept responsibility when that happens.

Eventually, they'll end up killing her - probably within the next few years.

What is so special about the time lapse until this summer that they must wait until then? Time for him to get out of town?

I believe they are asking for Federal help. Apparently in his ruling the judge has barred them from appealing until this summer.

I hope that they take her immediately outside of Mass.

I cannot believe it. Do you think their lawyers handled the case poorly? There must be some info we are missing. Parents all over the city should be demanding the resignation of that judge. It seemed the case was headed in the right direction. What happened?
