The big question is how could this system have such big holes in it. How many other people who don't qualify are getting benefits. Outrage for a day or so and then back to normal.

  Because it is set up merely to transfer wealth, not really to help people get back on their own feet. Thus, it really doesn't matter to whom it is going to, but it is a bit embarrassing that they got caught giving the money to someone "rich" instead of someone "poor." Either way, the bureaucracy is still fed, and that's really the point, isn't it?

the couple is a symptom, not the cause. I loved the neighbor's take on it...
we should check if they have been to a state dinner with the President
