I read the topics and I wish I were. I would be going to Stephen Hicks' talk on universities, the one about whether we're partly biologically adapted to be averse to Objectivism, the Success in Business series, and the one about Keynesianism. I imagine there being many Ayn Rand fans there who do not work in the area of philosophy. I'm glad people write books/articles on these ideas, but one thing I like about Objectivism and related ideas is for me it's an avocation, far removed from how I earn money.. It would be neat to go to something where there's no significant chance of meeting someone with an electronics project. That's the sort of place where I'm likely to learn something or meet someone that leads to something huge, when I'm not trying.

there are a number of engineers and scientists that speak and attend. But this about philosophy, so you can take your work hat off and give yourself room to expand and explore your knowledge. Adds to one's happiness, right? :)

We'll be there. The intellectual atmosphere is a high point of the year for me. I hope it works out that I can also display some rational/logical mindgames and puzzles for attendees to play and even buy.
