Thanks for posing the question Jan! i would love for us to improve the ratio of creators to commentators among us! But we know it's much easier to be a critic. When anyone wants a website platform and some training on effective messaging, I'm here to help.

  I sometimes get so interested in the Gulch discussions that I forget that this was originally a movie discussion site. The people here are aware of the role of art in culture...so I thought I would draw attention to the video you suggested viewing.
  
  There is a lot about that video that is extremely well done, and perhaps we can use it as a paradigm...but with a different philosophy in evidence - one more in keeping with the final quote!

yes.

1. social interactions affect behavior.
2. incentivizing sloth begets more sloth.
3. democracy becomes overwhelmed with sloth.
4. the society fails.

  What attracted me to the video (emotionally), johnpe, was the 'we are mysterious anti-establishment forces who are telling you the real story' envelope it was nested in. Then there were telling images, inspirational music, and pithy declarative statements. OK, so the statements were mostly both wrong and repulsive...nonetheless, the format had something to recommend it.

    with a no-BS clause in its bylaws ... letting us in for
    a planning meeting. . now, if atlas productions did
    something similar, to attract people in advance of an

        We have hugely capable people here in the Gulch. The idea of some youtube 'advertisements' for our philosophy is attractive to me.
        
        The reason I posted this as a separate thread was to see if some of those folks replied with, "Hmmmm!"

        the "anonymous" folks have a wonderful mysterious
        reputation which we would envy, but Rand is getting
        to be as famous. . if we somehow could do a "beyond
        the grave" voice of Rand herself -- without being sued
        into oblivion -- or if we spoofed her as Ann Zand
        and hid behind the mystery. . . . . . we have some very fine
        writers here, and editors. . what about this? -- j

        "those hackers" are among us now John. Not in the Gulch, I mean. But they are people from throughout society who picked themselves to take action. There is nothing except our own decisions (or lack thereof) to stop us here from doing something remarkable too.

    Yes, great description of the effective elements! We should make this a crowdsourcing project within the Gulch!
    Should we go "big" and make it a Kickstarter project? Or should we be more stealthy and discrete...somehow organize ourselves with a personal network of people here through the Gulch?
    The questions I've been wondering--what should be the final call to action? And what identity should be claimed for the presenter(s)? That gets into legal, ethical, and privacy matters...

        I wouldn't want to use their symbol if I wasnt a part of them. That's being dishonest. And Anonymous is not the kind of people you want to get mad at you...
        But we could rather easily make a modified version, win a floating dollar sign over a suit instead of a question mark. :-) Or nothing...sometimes less is more.

        Good idea. I would not think of hijacking a symbol...except that their stated symbol is "Anonymous"! We have as much right to be anonymous as they do. (It is kinda poetic.)
