    THAT is injured? I get more marks on my arm playing with my dogs! OK, OK, the prof had no right to do that (and, to the contrary, every reason to set a good example)...still...it's a bit like threatening to give someone a papercut.

    Regardless of your position on the content of the sign or message... Criminal battery... what about civil rights violations, or are those charges only reserved for when minorities are the victims? The assault was wrong but the denial of first amendment rights okay?

      yes, given that the attacker was a female minority, and the victim a white person, it is unlikely that any civil rights violation will ever be brought, even though it was the young lady's right to freely express her opinion that was attacked.
