ASP3: This is John Galt
Ideally, the actor playing John Galt in Atlas Shrugged Part 3 will appear to have jumped right off of the pages of Atlas Shrugged. However, in our quest to find the perfect John Galt, some tough choices may have to be made. That's where you come in.
If you had to choose, which would you consider the number one priority in casting John Galt?
A. As long as the actor looks and acts like John Galt, I don't care what his personal beliefs are.
B. The actor needs to possess a deep understanding of, and passion for, Ayn Rand's ideas first and foremost.

Nice!
An audience pays to watch someone else's interpretation; it's really that simple.
If you're too afraid of not being handed your own mind and thoughts via actor(s); then you should stay home and not stress out on what wasn't correctly adapted by your interpretation.
Haha....the questions are awesome!!
(James Franco and Nick Nolte are on my list!)
A - pee wee herman not , Charleston Heston or John Wayne yes... oh but they already have B in hand.
To get B, he may well be some unknown that cannot 'make it' in Hollywood because of his beliefs and ideals.
James didn't have it in him to succeed on his own, and certainly didn't have the independent spirit to drive himself around...unlike all the characters that we admire.
The writers and/or director got it 100% right.
If an actor keeps his opinions to himself and does his job, it's a lot easier to "vote" for him with my dollars.
Of Course.....there has to be an actor out there that fits the part ...it would not be right to have this played and acted out even though actors can do so.....in this case it isn't right to the author to even think that could be a possibility
N.B. list in random order
further note: spellcheck suggests "simplemindedly" instead of "singlemindedly". humph.
Gotta say I do like where [from a fast Wikipedia read] he stands philosophically - he doesn't fling money at a bunch of causes, he picks his area and concentrates.
