Why would that be?

Among the other costs of war, there may be a type of counter Darwinistic effect on a population according to a new study. A new British study has found that the most intelligent soldiers in World War II had a higher mortality rate in combat. In other words, the war favors the least intelligent soldiers in terms of survival.

I had more than my share and none of it 'behind' the lines so to speak. Three continents managed to get me into the thick of their predicaments for the best part of four plus years... Yet I consider myself to be of above average intelligence. Exception to prove the rule? Dumb Luck:? A keen survival mode? Cheeful Optimist or Cynical Realist I did love the work and the sense of ...adventure. but I always considered civilian life to be more deadly and more dangerous than toting a rifle for a living..That turned out to be true more than once. It struck me with out other discussions...what makes some people cope with certain aspects of life more easily than others? What aspects of life do they really fear if at all deep down inside...is it escapism or head on embracing and coping with the challenges. Sheer stupidity no....that is the one thing I can refute. Maybe those of lesser intelligence according to the study ...just never stop to think...hey this could be a bit dicy or maybe not coping is the greater fear or testing the breaking limits. They are I assure you very real and they wait for all of us.... Ah well my turn to learn. Your thoughts?

Philosophy seemed the best category but maybe Psychology would have worked as well.
