I'm very happy to have landed in the Gulch...I was discussing with my father (a few months ago) my dismay with our political leaders and he suggested I read Atlas Shrugged. He is a self made businessman. When he was seeking a partner to invest in his business in the early 70's
His prospective partner told him he needed to read Atlas Shrugged because he didn't partner with anyone unless they read the book. The gentleman had a dozen copies in his trunk and gave 1 to my father.
I read It in about 5 weeks later and understood his partners insistence as well as dads response to my chagrin of our political direction. What an incredible book .I thank Ayn Rand posthumously for her amazing work.

Welcome. Your father's partner reminds me of one of the most competent people I ever knew. A "technical manuals" kind of guy, he liked only 2 of the fictional works he had read -- Atlas Shrugged and The Princess Bride.

Thanks for your reply. I wish that I had read Atlas Shrugged years ago. My fathers partner passed away almost 30 years ago he was an excellent businessman and obviously had great insight.
He gave my dad a 10 year loan and he was repaid in 6 years!
I read Atlas out loud to my wonderful wife and we were both astonished by Ayn's incredible command of the English language her tremendous
Descriptive capability. I started reading to her several years ago , reading the Earths children series by Jean Auel. It is very connecting and a great alternative to watching the trash called entertainment on TV.
Peace and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
