There is a lot more from Trump to push him under Hillary, and national polls have indicated that. It's not enough to defy political correctness with his own version of nonsense. Several other candidates have an excellent chance to defeat Cackles if they have the political sense to know how to do it, in contrast to a Romney or equivalent nonsense.

Rand Paul has had his moments of religious zealotry, too, like sponsoring legislation overthrowing Roe v Wade through the ear-wilting of device of legally defining a fetus to be a person. Bizarre moves like that undermine the good in him.

Not voting or voting for a hopeless candidate "sends a message", but not one that makes any difference. The politicians don't care, they only want the power that comes from the election, and the 'message' is useless. At best it says "frustration, not the first two", which can mean any of a large number of motives encompassing anarchy, anti-foreign policy and all kinds of 'rightist' and 'leftist' positions. If you want to send a message then send a message and say what it is. It isn't what votes in this mess are for.

Actually, I am more of a libertarian politically. I agree that the democrats and republicans are cut from the same cloth- just have different groups they are pandering to. Its all about taking from one group and giving to another, or in the case of this budget deal- going into debt to give to both groups.

I just know if Hillary gets in, she will doom my small business with her minimum wage hikes and higher taxes. Its not that I WANT Trump as a principled leader, but I dont WANT Hillary. Plus the fact Trump will be a better administrator and foreign affairs negotiator.

There are a dozen candidates in the Republican primary. No one else needs to enter the race to have alternatives to Trump. Nor in this culture would we be likely to get anything better than the spectrum of conservatives already running.

We will see how the primary elections and the general election turns out. I am making a prediction based on what I see. I say its Clinton on the democratic side (who else is even close?), unless she just shoots herself in the foot. Obama did come out of nowhere to kick her out in 2008, so it could happen again.

As to Putin, I agree with what you say about him. BUT, he IS the leader of the largest country on earth, and the USA does have to deal with him. Better to have someone on our side who sticks up for us, rather than muslim foreigners like we have now.

Americans make America great. But our government can and does make that difficult and sometimes impossible. Best thing our government could do to 'make america great' is get out of the way.

So, if the election were to be held today with the candidates we have today, and given the majority takes all mentality, I would vote for Trump as I think no one else currently running could beat Hillary. Call me collectivist or fascist or whatever, but I dont want Hillary to win.

You don't tell us that the only choice is the false alternative of Trump versus Clinton. We have primary elections for that. In the meantime we think and assess candidates based on what they are. Hillary is not a reason to support Trump.

Well, its getting late now to enter the race. The Dems will have Hillary- no one else is close. The Repubs still have a big field of religious zealots like Cruz and Rubio who have a shot. There is one good guy Rand Paul, but he really doesnt have a chance in this election. And there is Trump, who could actually take on Hillary.
