If one of the demands made in Paris, viz. ditch fossil fuels today, were accepted by all 7 billion of us what would tomorrow look like?

We couldn't:
Heat our homes
Start our cars
Fly in planes
Grow food
Raise animals for food or pets
Manufacture anything
Go anywhere
Continue to live

And it would have no noticeable effect on climate change for 5 years. Why only 5 years? Because then the smoke from burning all the trees to keep warm would darken the skies and increase global warming. CO2 levels would also increase because of the massive decrease in the forests that convert CO2 to O2. Of course that would have little effect on climate because CO2 levels would still be miniscule compared to other gasses.

    Damn climate change denier-deniers.

But we would be back to hunter-gatherers which is where the environmentalists want us. Obama would be Tarzan and Al Gore would be Jane and the planet would be saved. What a fairy tale ending to Mankind's story.

Obama and Al Gore wouldn't survive as hunter gatherers. Nor would they survive in an isolated technology enclave because they have no productive talent. They are tools, but the people wielding them are not environmentalists, although greenies are the excuse that is being used for this massive concentration of power, and enslavement of the people. imo, it's likely that part of it is a goal to reduce the population of the earth. Environmentalists are just tools, too, imo, but the powerful people behind this 'movement' do not want a hunter-gatherer result. They want high tech managed earth where they control dissimination of technology and limit and control the population, with the power concentrated in a few 'wise' people. Individual liberty is the biggest enemy of their goals.

    Always loved the quote
"The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they know about what they imagine they can design." Gold, solid Gold, mahalo's to FA Hayek.
