Since we first announced “Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt?”, we've received many requests to “BRING BACK THE COMPOSER FROM ASP1!” We heard you loud and clear, and couldn't agree more.

Elia. Is. Back.

We've got a press release coming out shortly. In the meantime, here's a quote from Elia: "I'm very excited to be back for Part III. Atlas Shrugged means a tremendous amount to me and I'm honored to return for the final installment.”

Please join us in welcoming Elia back.

Good! I hope he uses the same style and themes as in part 1. The John Galt theme and "Opening the John Galt Line" from part 1 are really nice pieces!

This is excellent news! My copy of the AS1 soundtrack album (purchased on the day of its release) is at the front of my queue, and excites me with every playing. Elia Cmiral, be aware your talent is appreciated here.

    Good news.
The steam engine approaches the tunnel, we are in the control room with the untrained staff, the attempt to divert the munitions train fails, this is not a sing-along moment.
This story needs music that evokes strong emotions- disgust, tension, threat, horror, relief, appreciation.
Elia Cmiral does this very well.

It is tough to come up with memorable scores, and this guy did that for the first two films. A lot of haters of the Atlas films won't admit it, but Elia Cmiral did a nice job.

Though you could tell the budget and time had constraints in Part 1, I really enjoyed the cinematography and sound. Bring that artistry back in Part 3!

It was good to hear real music from a real composer in part 1. As a former musician and an avid movie-goer, the music can greatly add or subtract to my enjoyment of the film. The producers just added to my anticipation of the final part of Atlas.

Agreed. The themes for AS1 were vastly superior to those for AS2, and far more inspiring and thrilling. Especially the theme that accompanied Dagny's rush up the mountain to Wyatt Junction, only to behold Wyatt's Torch.

I am happy this decision has been made. EC knows how we feel about this score. Any here who have not read my comments about this facet of the production still have a chance. I have been beating the drum on this issue for over 100 years. Well not quite that long. Congrats EC and all the best from your pals in Norco.

Great news - but please see if you can round up & bring back Taylor Schilling while you are at it. Samantha Mathis didn't and can't pull it off. It's obvious she's acting, which is bad acting. But I will watch opening day anyway....but Taylor was perfect for Dagny.

I know, but I have been saying that since Mathis was chosen before II even started filming....

and your opinion got the same weight mine did:
read, read "ding! thank you for playing!"
read "ding" THANK YOU for playing!"
          read, read, read, read....snore....

My point, made irreverently as usual, is that we all got to say whatever we wanted about the casting. And the PTB gave whatever we said whatever weight they have it. And now it's shot, so I think the conversation should be on the movie they made, not a different movie they could have made, but didn't.

At least you and I get some sort of cosmic points for consistency. I've said all along that I liked the different casts.
