"I hate it when people use 'greed' to explain something... it can't explain a price increase or a price decrease. Everyone's like 'the greedy oil companies are driving up prices!' Whoever says 'Hey look, the oil companies got less greedy. the price came down.' - Ben Powell

You so rarely see it used this way,
"For the winter he greedily stored twice as much as he thought he and his family would need. It almost wasn't enough. The winter got much harsher than expected and they got very hungry. He was NOT greedy enough."

It's either "greedy oil companies are driving up prices" or "hey look, oil producers are greedy and increasing production (lowering price) to crush frackers and other suppliers of oil." You can't win this greed battle because the world runs on selfishness except when people get roped into doing something they don't want to do by guilt, shame, or threat of violence.
