Well, at least there is one person (and I don't mean the Hillary beast) who gets it....

I'm not so sure. There's the IRAs, 401Ks, other savings, land to be seized and sold to the Chinese, debt to be charged to future generations. Both Dems and Repubs are pretty creative when it comes to wealth confiscation.

Seven million that's normal for them it's their version of donate more or we'll shut down. that's one over one thousandth of Soros or Lewis and one ten thousandth give or take of Gates. Just for starters......but first they are talking about sequestering retirement accounts...poor little rich kids playing see how stupid people really are they why sure otherwise why would they be socialists?

The government owns half of the US west. If they wanted to, they could give away most of the states west of the Mississippi River, including Alaska. That would pretty much restore the pre-Louisiana Purchase America, but would leave individual holdings intact. However, it would be interesting to have East China, East Japan, East Korea, West Germany, North Brazil and West OPEC in North America. How would that work out for everyone?

Can our government truly own anything? I mean in the same sense that any one of us owns a car or a house.

I would say yes, "in the peoples name", look at govt assets such as cars, trucks computers etc, they are all listed a property. Land would also probably be able to, but I do not think Title is vested in them, but you never know...

We just recently discussed that and found all the government land would have to fetch 21,000 dollars an acre to satisfy the new debt. Of course England as the major debt holder and China who is I think number three might settle for half or one third and then we could charge them property tax.
China hopes to regain their investment by good old capitalism and making everything to sell here we used to make here.
        England is just hoping..

Did you know even through th e2003 Gulf war Saddam had T Bills? Not uncommon. Go figure.

The one epic fail in this whole argument: the notion that Hillary Clinton actually keeps her word! This is pure political pandering to the center. She has no intention of keeping such a promise.

I understand that, which is funny in a sick way that she even bothers to try to coax the middle class into voting for her by promising security...there is nothing less secure then a Democrap in the WH, closely followed by the Republicraps..

especially for soldiers the Demos score is an 18 to one ratio of dead US Service personnel since the end of WWII as compared to armed conflicts started by the Republicans. Now they have joined at the hip I would hate to be in the Cannon Fodder business but I did my 24...years toting a rifle and ruck sack. someone else's turn to be foolish..

Liberals have a metaphysical view of economics. They consider that fundamental economic principals are inventions rather than discoveries and as such can be modified, adjusted or ignored at whim. The reality is that economics follows basic and fundamental laws that are as real and as inescapable as the laws of gravity or thermodynamics. This is an uncomfortable reality and liberals hate uncomfortable reality. For example, the ultimate result of establishing a minimum wage is the decline in the value of the dollar. This decline is intentional because paying debts with future dollars that have declined in value is the equivalent of getting a discount. There are many ways to reduce the value of currency and minimum wage is just one of them. Printing dollars with nothing behind them is another.

Why is this even an issue? I could teach the folly to an eight year old using Monopoly money and Monopoly properties. If you spend more than you take in, of anything, you will eventually run out. I never understood why that was so @##@! hard to understand.

Your eight year old may have a tad bit more mental ability than some of the teachers in the schools these days. (Some exceptions you know who you are.)

        Sadly, you are right.
That 8 year old is now 57 and he's making way too much money being an engineer and having too much fun doing it than to run for president.

Herb, I think it is because by masking it in mystery and doubletalk, then they believe only THEY have the answers to save us all from the last gangs ill planned spending spree. Then they start their own spree so the next guy has something to blather about. It's only money..

The second epic fail is they are both part of the same gang.

the new line is K*ll them all let Galt sort them out. Metaphorically and politically of course.

A little violent aren't we Michael? Remember what Asimov said in the Foundation series" Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, since all else has already failed". While we may end up there someday, I would hope we are all collectively smarter than they are...

It's metaphoric and political rah rah something like the Seahawks fans saying kill the umpire when they lose a game....Really! Violent? Perish forbid. Besides it's not murder and that is illegal and immoral. Would you accept - "Rebuke them all let Galt sort them out?"

They havent come close to exhausting the wealth of us citizens. They will just take and take until the citizens revolt and either wont pay any more, or change their behavior to avoid the taxation. Personally, I am not planning on making a lot of $$ in the future, as more and more of it will be taken away.

Right...if your family (of 4 or more is hidden, here) makes less than $250K...
You know they will put some constraints on this. Also, how long before that $250K is $200K...then, $150K?
Just like the Occupy Wall Street gang. Each time they held a protest...they increased the size of the circle of top wage earners to go after.
Make no mistake...they want it ALL!

Yo do know that it is all a joke right, just babble for the masses to vote for them. Supposedly the Dem givaway list is topping 1 Trillion now, so there is no way they will be able to borrow all that. Pick pockets are coming..

Why; not they just borrowed nine trillion what's another one trillion. chump change. especially aftet the next turn of the wheel the next cycle of economic repression. It's easy they just steal it from the elderly and the retirees and ...whoa who is next on the list. those thinking about retiring in the next ten years or so who will find out their retirement accounts aren't worth crap.

Infllate! Devalue! Repudiate! And make sure the elderly can't afford medical assistance so they die faster then TAX what remains.

If it's babble how come they keep profiting so much?

I would really like to stay alive just long enough to hear the military tribunals start the long long litany of Paredon' and Deseparacida!

Michael, babble is the mainstay of politics today They just babble on about giving this, that and the other thing, with no idea of how they would pay for it, and then get elected and immediately ignore anything they said. They profit because the masses refuse to hold them accountable, when they say "You said XXXX" and they get some inane response, the masses just go, "uh, OK" and re-elect them. Look at the Obamanation: "Change". Yep he did a lot.. and if questioned, just blames the other guys. I never trust a thing a politician says in election time, and am rarely disappointed. Thats why I try to vote on character, not content, which is usually just frustration, but is better than babble.

got that right...but if they are in the forbidden zone i won't vote for them figuring they wouldn't be there if they had any character and like Rand and Cruz I'm rarely wrong.

Of course my agenda is not everyone else's piece mail zippo planning give in sort of under the umbrella block hillary at any cost.

that sort of mindless response will accomplish the opposite at best.

I started my little effort as a one and perhaps he only plan that's got any substance.

Now in spanish....hablar is talk, habla is you talk etc so their word for babble is hablablablabla and with that and your thumbs up I'm outta here.

Bernie Sanders Democrats do want a liberal "revolution" and tax increases. Hillary Clinton Democrats do not want a liberal revolution or tax increases. The article imples Clinton Democrats actually want increased spending so a no-tax pledge is a mistake for them.

The article correctly identifies the Democratic problem of expecting taxes on a small group of people to fund programs for large groups of people.

Hillary people must have missed her speeches about 'tax enhancements.' All the embellished enhancements aside what they want is government control of people as opposed to citizens controlling government. The cannon fodder and baby factory folk in fly over country solemnly look up as she passed overhead and think "What an amazing azz hole."
