Halal is such a great way to wake people up. Most people have NO idea what it is, so when they find out, it is a wake up call. Pork is my favorite food :-)

Only the radical fundamentalist Muslims are dangerous. Normal Muslims are fine. In fact, radical fundamentalist anything tends to be pretty crazy. Just look at the Fundamentalist LDS church (FLDS) vs. the regular, mainstream LDS church.

There's a great book called "The Islamist," by Ed Husain, which really goes into extraordinary detail about the whole radical Muslim vs. peaceful Muslim conflict.

    You can get it here:

I am just meandering in this post. The company agreed to it, it's their decision. What is annoying is the union part of it. As well, the alarming rise of Muslims in the US. Alarming, because Islam is a dangerous religion, in my opinion. US companies making exceptions for their employees' practice of a dangerous religion, also alarming.

Memorial Day isn't a religious holiday ... it's a US holiday. To eliminate a US holiday and replace it with a Muslim holiday is just one more tiny step towards this country becoming more Muslim than American. What will be the next to go? Thanksgiving? Second, 250 employees out of 1,200 managed to eliminate Memorial Day? I find that frightening. Political refugees? What's the definition of a political refugee? Anybody can claim that status, it's a catch-all term. Where are all the Americans who receive welfare and unemployment? Opps! Claiming welfare and unemployment ...

True, but I've noticed that a significant number of people on this board seem to think that accommodating non-Christian religions somehow undermines American freedoms, when it doesn't...

Okay, if you believe that businesses should be able to do as they wish, why are you protesting their accommodation of their Muslim employees? Maybe accommodating their employees is something they want to do?

seriously, festus, you are off the chicken farm. Businesses should be able to do as they wish, as long as property rights are not violated. "holidays" are for sissies

"approximately 250 of the plant's 1,200 employees are Somalis who entered the United States as political refugees. Most, if not all, are believed to be Muslim"

Stop being Islamaphobic, people. This is actually entirely reasonable, considering that so many of the workers at the plant in question are Muslim anyway. This isn't being applied to Tyson as a whole, but just to one specific manufacturing plant that happens to employ a significant number Muslim workers. When a significant portion of your workers are Muslim, it only makes sense to accommodate Muslim holidays.

Or have you all forgotten that the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion?

Interfaith dialogue? hahahahahahahahaha. Yeah, it's a ONE WAY bridge to Islam. THEY don't come to Christianity, Judaism, or anything else. JT is a dhimmi. He's already bending to his Masters! I wonder if he knows what "halal" is?

    Religious activities

Current chairman John Tyson is a practicing Interfaith Christian. In addition to placing 128 part-time chaplains (including both Protestant and Catholic Christians and Muslim Imams) in 78 Tyson plants,[11] in 2006, the company invited their customers to download a prayer book, containing prayers from many faiths, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and American Indian spirituality, from the company's website to read during mealtime.[

Sadly...if you eat any chicken (and who doesn't), you have probably been their customer. They are the major supplier, and cover numerous brand labels.

Although the article fits in the realm of 'so what', I agree that any surrender to Muslim demands is just another nail in the Republic's coffin. It is not surprising that their union was the spearhead for this, since there seems to be few unions that support our traditions. It is also not too surprising that this union would not do anything contrary to this administration's love for the Muslim religion. They seem to be one and the same....
