Health insurance canceled. Reason-Did not provide proof of citizenship.

My sister in law attempted to use her prescription card today and was told it was not valid. She received the card less than 2 months ago so this seemed strange. My brother called the Insurance carrier and was informed the policy had been canceled because he failed to provide proof of citizenship when he purchased the policy. The person he spoke to said he probably failed to put his Social Security number on the form. No request was sent and he didn't get a letter informing him the policy was cancelled. He asked what he needed to do now and was told he needs to submit the following:

Copy of drivers license
Social Security number
Copy of birth certificate
Copy of most recent W2 forms

Obama became President with less information than this and ObamaCare is probably the reason behind this. What a mess.

I have been inundated witth "End Citizens United" emails in the last 2 months, and they all blame the Republicans for it, yet wasn't that during Obamas admin? And isn't George Soros one of the biggest culprits through several "front" organizations? Why would they want to kill one of their main supporters? I have not found a clear explanation, I have seen some that say it addressed corporations, and others that say it addressed corporations and PACs as well.

Technocracy.... Also, in Chicago, you can vote as many times as you can provide your death certificate for. Good thing they don't mandate voter ID.. it would mess up all the elections.

There is long established law going back way before the Constitution on this point. If you don't treat a corporation as having some of the same rights as individuals, it allows the government to violate the rights of the people who own the corporation.
The case this about most recently, is about campaign contributions and limiting what a corporation can say or how much it can contribute. Which means you are limiting what the owners of a company can say. and one would use the excuse a corporation has no "rights" to violate those rights of the individual owners. Practically, unions have never been subject to these campaign laws. I have never understood why Conservatives get behind this movement against the Citizens United case. btw: this is a legal definition of person-not biological.

There is a comment I could make here to amply illustrate why people have a problem with that decision, but I don't want to tangent this thread.

There is certainly something, not being a scholar of the Constitution, I do know a lot of their decisions are patently political. The worst one was the corporations are people thing, which I know there is no mention of in it. The whole series of Obamacare decisions clearly show a political bias, they have no real claim to being arbiters of our system, IMHO.

I hadn't heard about Boris, but you are correct. When I was doing investigations I frequently asked if that was the persons SSN, and the answer would be no. The SSA & irs both know that income from multiple sources and names is being reported on the same number. Not that hard to track down if they wanted to. They don't. I turned in (multiple times actually) someone blatantly committing SSI fraud, and last time I did the entire investigation for them, sent it via my congressman to the inspector general of ss, and directly to him also. They have no intention of stopping the fraud.

You aren't alone in that. Worry about the government and how it operates is not an uncommon thing any more.

    Aha!
Thanks for the clarification. I have become so sensitized to government intrusion that I get riled if I merely sniff it.

The citizenship proof is for subsidy qualification. I don't qualify for them in any case, so avoided the mismanaged "marketplace"

Yeah, I got the letter from them too about the hack. Their monitoring added to what I was already using.

On the merge... Their backup plan for single payer is apparently work the other way for sole provider. Merges on that scale have to be approved by sodom on potomac.

I lived in England in the easrly 70's for a couple years. They had the "National Health Service" for the unwashed masses, and it took 3-6 months for an appointment. Every doctor and nurse got a free education, then a 10 years stint as a doctor. That meant the entire system was run by amatuers basically. They then would be done after 10, and open up a private practice on Harley Street in London, and make huge amounts from the 1% who could afford them. It is a self destructive system a common idea to everything "progressives " produce.

A lot was driven by companies wanting to cut HC costs being driven by doctors. When I joined in 1976, the Navy had "free" health care at all medical facilities. By the time I retired in 1996, we had "TriCare". You used to retire in a military community so you were close to the hospital, now you look for your next job.

Indeed, and it was a corrupt system from the get go. But pelosi rammed it down the throat, as she served the Obamanation, and the SCOTUS seems bought as well, since they apparently forgot the whole "constitutional" part.
