Democrats are the real "Big Tent" party...

They freely welcome anyone and any group that grows government and takes away freedoms. Making any sense is not a prerequisite.

You may be right. I thought she could deflect anything but there seems to be something here. I wonder if the CIA is paying her back for what happened to Petraeus?

That is why I'm surprised they don't distance themselves from him. They must think enough of the country has shifted left that it doesn't matter.

He is polling well now but if his message gets more air play and it continues then we may be too far gone.

This is true. Every time I see a sound bite by Shrillary, I think of Joe Isuzu saying "You have my word on it." She is totally phony, and anybody that votes for her is just looking for a handout.

In terms of how fast we go socialist, yes. Look at what electing the current socialist did to health care. We got something that no one even read.

Because he wouldn't have gotten elected if he said he was a Socialist. But he has always caucused with the Dimocrats. Why does anybody in America not see that the Dimocrat party IS the Socialist Party of the USA?

Hillary is OUT. Sanders would be a good democratic candidate. He would not win at this point in time. Perhaps in 12 years if the country slides into more socialism. I want Trump as president and Mark Cuban as VP. At least we get to find out whats really going on. No one shuts Trump up !! Or Mark Cuban for that matter.

I think he ran years ago as a Socialist and then switched to Democrat but I guess he switched to Independent. It just seems strange to let someone like him run for the nomination when he isn't even registered as a D. He is proving to more people, hopefully, just how far the Democrats have shifted left.

Why: Because the Republican side is full up.

I thought he WAS an R became an I, and is now a registered D.

Trumpoline--I like that! It is interesting that Trump and Sanders are doing well and neither really have identified themselves with one of the major parties in the past. I hope Sanders gets more National coverage. I'm curious to see the reaction to an openly Socialist candidate.

As blabbermouth Schultz pointed out, they can't tell themselves apart, so (to quote Hilary) "what difference does it make!?"

Not being a democrat, I don't know, but the positive side of it is it may mean "the slippery siren" may not get the nod. Sanders may be about 10mm shy of Lenin, but at least you KNOW what and who he is and stands for (and THAT'S what a LOT of younger Americans like - why do you think Don Trumplione is kicking the crap out of the rest of the GOP candidates? He speaks his mind. Without reservation or fear. Sanders is doing the same thing, and he's killing the thing.

People are TIRED of BS politicos and the plethora of scruple-selling they do to get elected and hold on to the job. They want honesty and integrity - and most of these people just ain't got it.

These 2, Trump and Sanders, see this, and instead of working to see who can be the most politically correct, they're running on the "what you see is what you get, no apologies" platform.

It sure beats the "I don't remember, and at the time it wasn't classified" slick willie BS.

The Democratic Party do things as they please. If they want to certify someone as privileged to run in one of their primaries, State Secretaries of State and Directors of Elections cannot gainsay them.

I think the powers that be never expected him to be anything more than a side show. He is extreme and if he starts to get national coverage I'm hoping he damages the Democrat brand.

Not to me. He is making a lot of noise right now and I'm surprised the Democrats are putting up with it.

Democrat is short for Socialist Democrat Labor Party except i believe in Minnesota where it was Farm-Labor.

So let's look at some possibilities.

    1. State Laws in this respect are different. As they should be.

    2. Some pigs are more equal than other pigs.

    3. At some point the Democrats and Uncle Fuzzy were at odds but they didn't want to lose the vote.

    4. At some point Uncle Fuzzy was at odds with the Democrats but didn't want to quit voting the party line.

    5. He had become an embarrassment to the State. An Olympia Snow. Less so using the fuzzy bear sobriquet of Independent which means not much of anything. Less threatening.

    6. The Party did not want another Wayne Morse so he became an Independent Maverick.

    7. It's his swan song and he doesn't want to go out having accomplished nothing except pork.

    8. Like any good fellow traveler he wanted a cover story that fit the constantly changing. Truth IS that which serves the party label.

    9. Your turn.

    True dat.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz doesn't seem to want to allow any debates among the democrats...much to the frustration of the candidates whose last name isn't Clinton.

He has called himself a Socialist Democrat. I am guessing that the powers that be (in the Democratic hierarchy) thought his candidacy was going nowhere. Now it is a problem they have to deal with. Should be fun.

Nothing in law says that anyone must run as anything. (Sometimes you'll see that a candidate is running as, say, a republican and as a Conservative party candidate.). Sanders is probably running as an independent party candidate as well. As he caucuses with the dems, it's reasonable for them to allow him to run on their banner.
