There appears to be a cyclic component to the peaks and vallies on this chart. One should do a power spectrum and Fourier frequency analysis on the dat to determine exactly what it is and then develop a mathematical model that dup;icates the major characteristics of the time series. Then one could predict with some certainty when the peaks and vallies will occur and invest accordingly.
That will almost certainly guarantee that you will lose every penny you invest. As the poster said, there is an 800 pound gorilla in the room that messes things up. There is also the fact that regulators will almost always cause unanticipated effects when they tinker with rules and regulations. Ir the fed changes it minds.
