johnpe got me interested as it's the way I live.

Think of how many ways you can walk around in relative comfort, living relatively well yet be hidden, as much as possible, from moochers and looters.and things that cackle Hillariously in the night. Where and the How of it. This started with trying to use cash as much as possible led to prepaid phone cards and modes of travel and presto...your turn.

For example I use a tracphone prepaid my name isn't registered buy the minutes using cash. Downside. that may not apply to the individual on the other end and I stil lhave to remove the battery to turn it off. go for it. I wasn't even sure which category to pick There isn't one for 'living.'

    Use a mail forwarding service to pay your bills. Leave it to someone else to wonder why your New Jersey Edison electric bill is consistently being paid from Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

          Social Media is the home of self doubt and self esteem. The place where the most you can attain is ''good try.'' It is the home of wannabes and never wills. Those who are afraid of good ideas especially their own and shun any chance of gaining self respect or the respect of others. less they have to admit their whole life is a sham and they break every mirror in the house in favor of social media. It is the 24/7/52 method of dumbing down populations. It is for self-flagellation, self mutilation, and self pity for the participants although pitiable are not worth the effort of pity. It is an open admission, open advertisement of failure of reason and thought.

          Nothing paranoid about it. It simply is. But doesn't know nor can't explain why?

          Worse its a cry from those who having no soul wish to take yours. The answer is as always not rocket science. The off button.

            LOL, well, that is as clear a description of feeling about something as I've ever seen. While I disagree a bit, I love your 'vichyssoise of verbage' as V would say. There are many on social media who fit your description. However for others, it is a good way to stay in contact, or even try to share concepts and information with others. I have learned some great ideas from a 'preppers' group on facebook. I've also made contact with a few old friends as well as keeping in touch with family more easily than ever. Social media can easily descend into a soulless time-sucking escapist non-reality, but I do think it has it's uses...

    in a twist, Michael, might I suggest an identity theft
    protection service? . the goal is erasure of the value
    of theft of Your Identity. . wife and I use LifeLock Ultimate
    and have had good interactions with them. . when
    paying in cash or a prepaid anonymous debit card
    aren't practical (international purchases.....) then
    such a service could come in handy. -- j

      Thinking that one through. How secure are they? I did find Visa and MC available for purchase with cash in most of the Dollar stores and they require no identity and the MBE style mail address points while requiring proof of identity do not really care what name the box holder gives to the seller. Unless they are badged.
