Here's what I thought..(the fact that it was Mark Kelly got lost in this for me)...what the heck was up with the 2 blubbering chicks? Holding each other and sobing? Good grief, do they think all baby seals survive? They're easy food for all kinds of sea creatures (okay, not dogs usually), but a big dog is just doing what comes natural. It's NATURE! I don't know... I wanted somebody to say, "Give it a rest!" (There is a reason I only had sons...whew!)
I almost cried when Samurai, my wheaton, killed Lola, a chicken of mine that was a silky, who I had fondness for regardless of the fact she didn't lay consistently. But she was soft and friendly. sometimes, I would bring her onto my deck with us in the evening. She enjoyed music, and especially bobbed and weaved while Van Morrison would croon. Samurai was grounded for a very loooong time for breaking into the coop. and the chicken raising abruptly came to an end. My neighbor cried. She was a girl. I was just mad and egg-less.
Thank you for sharing your personal experience, khalling. :) As a child we had chickens...though cute and fluffy as chicks, they grew up to be mean and unpredictable. I would've let Samurai into our coop. (I thought you were going to say Lola bobbed and weaved while The Kinks sang.) :)
this was tried on several occasions and Lola was nonplussed. I believe it was because she was not a transvestite. You are sounding a little like OA. where's my song?
Midnight showing, cult night. 1982. It did not end well. Chapter One of most embarrassing moments. (I had nearly successfully suppressed this, NM... thanks.)

I read "Lola", and started singing. :)
Maybe not a tranny, but with all that wirey hair...
(Lola's on keyboards.)
