    MM is correct.
    The word 'rational' is wrong here.
    I have seen contexts where 'rational' means 'enlightened', whatever that means.
    Try this:
    It should be 'reciprocal'. something like a trade.
    Each accepts only the rights and obligations given to others.
    Rights and obligations are severely limited to the right to be left alone, and the obligation to leave others alone.

    My heartfelt thanks to Scott and everyone on the list. I am glad to have found the gulch and "met" all of you here.
    Thanks to everyone at Atlas productions for providing this place to meet and exchange ideas.

    Happy 2015 and beyond to all Gulchers!
    May we find our way to the real Gulch this year.

    I couldn't afford to win one. I'd have to pay the taxes on it. Better to win one, sell it, pay the taxes, then buy a skateboard with the leftover money.

    Yes, but he used poor examples. Egomaniacs usually lack social graces and subsequently, don't always act in a way that is in their best interest. From what I have read Objectivists do not advocate as a general rule to deliberately and completely disregard other’s interest when assessing their own.
    Rudeness is not a prerequisite for being an Objectivist. This thread was a goodwill gesture, an end-of-the-year salute of appreciation.
    MM should stop behaving like that guy Sheldon from ’The Big Bang Theory” He’s not nearly as cute or as funny.
