Thank you, k. @Schtagg. And go for it. I don't post a lot of stuff, but it is always nice to put a face to a name.

I have not watched Brian Williams in years. He is another pandering jack-ass. I would like to see all newscasters announce officially what their party affiliation is.

My brother was watching Brian Williams at moochalot's house when the verdict was read and he said Williams was irate at the decision. So much for just the facts.

At least the Grand Jury got it right and didn't cave to the pressure. I am wondering what happens next. Trayvon Martin was a thug and so was Michael Brown. I am guessing these are warm ups and if an innocent black man is killed by Police all hell will break loose.

This was mishandled in many ways but nothing justifies what the losers(looters) were doing. I wonder (doubt it) if MSNBC and CNN will take a different look at things now that their anchors were attacked???

Was stuck waiting for a train in NY City for a couple of hours yesterday and the only news broadcast on was CNN. This issue was the only one covered waiting for the verdict. It was a feeding frenzy of race and gender race and gender race and gender over and over ad nauseum. It was all feelings devoid of rational thought. It seemed every 5 minutes the race and gender of the jury was flashed on the screen and discussed as though skin color and genital configuration was all that was needed to reach a conclusion. There was zero consideration as to whether or not the jury may have had any brains to sift through the facts and reach a rational decision or if they were dumb as a box of rocks. Now you know why I'd rather watch Fox News.

I would have been. The local Governor should have made it clear they would not prosecute anyone protecting their property.

let's start with the failed premise of "african american community" as long as we need to have one of those, there will be race issues in our country
why didn't we see business owners armed to the teeth outside their business?

Are you kidding? Obama and Sharpton did everything they could to make sure this would happen.
Sharpton didn’t have to plan a multiple-city protest and give cover for the looters. He met with Obama last week. They are agitators.
I disagree with some of the reports that the mayor should have announced earlier in the day. By waiting til 8:00 PM, people were allowed to get home from work. Because the schools were already closed, there were no extra-curriculum activities caught off guard. This could have been a lot worse. Daylight wouldn’t have made a difference; daylight would have increased the presence of youth. Let’s hope the agitators go home now. It’s time for family and holidays.
This didn’t have to happen. The police really mishandled the crime-scene. They should have stayed with the Dad, comforting him and walked the perimeter talking with bystanders ended the rumors on the spot. They should have been more respectful with the body. So, yeah, in a way, there is a communication problem between the police and the community that needs to be reviewed and dealt with.

Its because they wanted something like this to happen, because it makes America as a whole seem divided. When there's chaos, who steps in? People who can "guarantee" something. Whether it be "equality" or "safety" or "freedom"... What party likes to position themselves as champions of all the above?

Even though we're not actually divided, this event makes it seem that way to the people who vote for the people you mentioned, Rich; and if the people you mentioned are like the political opportunists of the past...(we know who I'm speaking about) Then this is literally an early Christmas for them... You're right about Ferguson. It'll never be the same town it was even two days ago.

Great article. I went on a Twitter rant last night on this about 5-6 tweets long. Went along the same lines as Francisco's speech before he announces his crash, ironically enough:
"The moment people start making judgments based upon how they feel, rather than what they know, is the moment the U.S. as I've known it, dies. I see people using the words "I know in my heart" and "I feel like"... the only people who seem to have had the facts are those in that jury. My logic: If they had better access to facts than you, then you have no right to inflame the situation with gossip and speculation. #media."

I went on to say how despicable it was that they were taking it out on their own town and businesses that had served them so gladly. Basically, this would have never become the disaster it had had it not been for the media. Combine an inflammatory information source with enough fuel (dumb people, as per Mr. Gruber) and this is what you get.

It's heartbreaking to see this happen in America. Who are the leaders in the African American community? Why didn't Obama, Sharpton and Jackson announce that violence would not be tolerated? I keep thinking of all the work my family has done building our business and it could be gone in the blink of an eye if thugs like this decide to riot. The town of Ferguson probably won't survive this.
