No President in my lifetime (going back to Truman) could answer "yes" to any of those have-you-ever-been-poor questions. Obama would say, and honestly believe, that his policies help people like her, while his opponents would reduce her to dumpster-diving and begging on the streets for aspirin to treat her child's broken leg.| Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink

Michelle Obama talked about how tight money was for her and Barack after college. They end up rich but didn't all start that way.
