    I've listened to a lot of the eclipse hoopla and found it interesting that no mention has been made of utilizing a pinhole camera to view it. I wonder why?

      Post eclipse update: I was going to give the pinhole a try, but cloudy skies overhead made it a useless endeavor. Can I get my 2 bucks back for the glasses? LOL! Eclipse happened right over my house but the cloudiness blocked all viewing. The darkness at 3:20pm was interesting as the street lights came on and all the solar garden lights lit up around the neighborhood. It looked like midnight. The sudden bright whiteness of the cloud cover as the eclipse ended was a memorable phenomenon (likely from the diamond effect) and then the sky went to normal cloudy gray again. Hey, I live near Rochester, NY where George Eastman built the Eastman Kodak film plant because the whole city is a natural dark room - as evidenced by the missed overhead eclipse.

    Good spread this week, OUC! #5 nails the crux of the problem and illustrates fools doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different results. #6 brings out the creepiness of that subject! Oh, to be Batman in #7, LOL!

    OK, the eclipse is going right over my house and I'm sure the thoughts of the first and last will pop into my mind now that they are planted there. Thanks, OUC, LMAO!

        I have not watched the "Network News" in many many years. A woman by the name of Edith Efron (an associate of Ayn Rand) put me on to their (and the print media equivalent (the "New York Slime's" et al) fraudulent language techniques long ago.

    I count 18 thumbs up so far. Super batch and my favorite is definitely that 4-panel eclipse!. Still happy from watching a total eclipse and seeing at least 50 family groups in the park across the street doing likewise. The squeals and screams of awe weren't all from the kids, either. It was amazing.

      We all rotated outside during work, with a few customers as well. Today was my early day so I had a treat of another hour watching the eclipse from my deck at home.

      The point I was making to the early viewers of this post is, there needs to be sufficient positive activity for a post to make the Hot list, from there and only there, activity explodes and we all have a great experience, All my hard work along with others are rewarded in a sea of commenting, sometimes the comments out perform the post.

      So, for the early folks, if ya like it, thumbs up it so that as many as possible will enjoy the knowledge, the laughter, the sadness or satire. This is where, ideas are born, Friends are made acquaintance and articulate thoughts shared.
      What could be better than that besides doing all that in person.

    Well, I went outside to look at the eclipse; I was out about a half hour, and I took a little plastic chair and a book. Well, there was plenty of light to read by. I am 72, and have seen a few "eclipses" before; maybe 4, maybe 7. But I never saw one that amounted to much. And this one was no exception. In fact, I didn't think it amounted to a bottle of cold urine. I knew not to look straight at it, because of the danger to eyes. I tried my brother's suggestion of a box with a "pinhole" in it, placed in another box. I didn't use a pin, I made a little hole with some scissors. But I couldn't see the shadow of the moon covering the sun. I hear that the next one is supposed to be 20 years or so from now. Maybe I did something wrong with the box. But I didn't really see that it amounted to much.
