Thank you. Had a nice birthday with grown kids and their little kids. We all went to a Japanese restaurant.
My hair is still brown with subtle streaks a gray.
Just before the Chinese Covid biological attack, a couple of female barbers carried on about how pretty my cut hair looked like in clumps on the floor.
My white sideburns tell me to shave my entire face or else sport a white mustache or a Santa Claus beard.
As for feeling my age, I need my cane and my handicapped parking sticker. I visibly limp.

    Well happy birthday there youngster.
My sister is 70 (I'm the youngest of the tribe). She doesn't have a gray hair on her head. She looks 15 years younger than she is.
My beard is mostly gray, but I still have a full head of brown hair.
Unfortunately, the rest of me feels my age.

Thanks for assembling this fine collection of Karma Memes, Carl.

The wheel falling off the plane . . .
This reminds me of a recent personal story.

I am driving in Arkansas last October 2023... I have a biological need to pull off the road at a service station. I get back to my car, turn the key and everything lights up - low oil pressure. I look under the car. All the oil is leaking out... at a rate of around a pint a minute. Then it stops... all the oil is gone. On the bright side, I just happened to pull over as the oil incident occurred. I figured that the oil retaining bolt had come loose or fallen out... I walk a quarter mile down the road that I turned off of prior to the service station -- the results of the oil leak are clearly present on the road, I do not see or find the oil bolt. The tow-truck / mechanic shows up 30 minutes later (more good luck). He lifts the front of the car, gets under the chassis and locates the oil bolt -- it had come completely loose. 400,000 miles of driving my 2 Camrys and this is the first time that this sort of incident has occurred. The mechanic tells me that the torque indicators on the bolt were not correct. Mechanic tightens the bolt back in place correctly. The service station has the oil of proper weight (5 quarts) -- more good luck. I am back on the road and the car continues to run fine.

Long story short -- although I had a Lot of Good Luck in terms of this incident, I have discovered, albeit anecdotally, that service and tech workers are becoming sloppy. I see this phenomena only getting worse. Everything is going to hell -- just a slow grinding march to hell. Nobody is actually held to account. Failure is acceptable, if not actually promoted. Time to hunker down in The Gulch and reduce interactions with the broken, crumbling, failing world.

Turned 77 Sunday. A moth ago the family doctor I see every 4 months due to my type 2 diabetes said I look younger than my age.
I've been hearing that from different people for the last 3 years or so.

Jay hosted a conservative radio talk show on WTTK-FM Boston for 11 years called "Extreme Games". Highly intelligent, highly informed, highly outspoken, highly confrontational with opposing views, but his facts were iron clad. You had better have your facts straight when you called in, or he would eat you up and spit you out.
He was Kryptonite to Woke Boston, for years various groups went apoplectic to get him fired, but he was the number one attraction for the station, but it was his own over-the-top comments that got him fired. If a particular group caused more trouble than others... he would say the quite part out loud.
To say Jay was politically incorrect was like saying water is wet.
He was famous for saying "if they succeeded in firing him the station wouldn't last a year". He was correct.
His direct quote was" WTTK will become WETB radio, and cease operation within a year" A reference to the ETB cards given to the Permanent Welfare Class, for which he had no use for.
    Again, exactly as he predicted..
He did go on to host a satellite radio channel for a few more years before contracting cancer and passing away at around 50-ish?

2nd the recommendation of Association of Mature American Citizens: https://amac.us/ vs. AARP. For those who care, however, it should be noted that in addition to being patriotic, they are conservative (not libertarian) and Judeo-Christian.

Like the term. Unfamiliar with Severin, I just looked him up. R.I.P.
Yet another person who died younger that me.
Had a relative who literally dropped dead from a heart attack when he was 37 and I was 73.
I kept switching those numbers around in my head during the funeral. Creepy!

Not only that, it makes money, SCREWING it's members. They construct special insurance policies with specific "interesting/positive" riders. But which drop other coverages. And the AARP gets a piece of every policy.

YOU are the product being sold when you join. That by itself explained a lot.

I joined as soon as I was eligible, like maybe at 50 years old (?), but dropped out quickly because I discovered they were Communist in their positions on everything.

Good for you. Unlike you, I remained an AFL-CIO union member for self-preservation due to its lawyer protection from the mid-Eighties until I moved on just when I had bagged my retirement during May of 2003.
Me dino learned to stay away from the AARP some vaguely remembered years after that.

When little dino went to elementary school, the principal's name was Fanny Mae Faulk.
Even as a little kid I wondered why anyone would name their little girl (please don't squeeze the Charmin) Fanny.
Not (in those exact words). That TV commercial came along way later.
