I'm still trying to figure out why AARP put Robert De Nero on their front page of their magazine.

Over the years AARP has taken a hard left in the political arena and is basically a mouthpiece for the DNC platform. Almost ALL celebrities and programs featured in their publications are left wing and woke. Barely an article is published that doesn't have one or more slipped in left wing and DNC talking points. My membership is paid up until 2025 and I will let it lapse and join something else like AMAC. AARP's "official" position is supposedly non partisan, but it's not hard to see that's a load of bulsh-t. It's time to give something else a try. AARP has a wide reach because it was basically the first kid on the block, but other services like AMAC are growing quickly as people realize what AARP has become.

Not only that, it makes money, SCREWING it's members. They construct special insurance policies with specific "interesting/positive" riders. But which drop other coverages. And the AARP gets a piece of every policy.

YOU are the product being sold when you join. That by itself explained a lot.

2nd the recommendation of Association of Mature American Citizens: https://amac.us/ vs. AARP. For those who care, however, it should be noted that in addition to being patriotic, they are conservative (not libertarian) and Judeo-Christian.

Lately I've started to make an effort to refer to illegal border crossers as illegal aliens and to deprive such foreign criminals~~be they invited here by domestic criminals~~as migrants.
Any foreign trespasser who used to be deported does not deserve the distinction of being called a migrant. Only those who migrated here the right way as did my Swedish and Irish ancestors.
Re Meme #3 A thing I've been harping on in the Gulch and elsewhere is how the Jackass Party loves to bray about saving democracy from Trump while doing their damned best to shred our Constitution and destroy our Constitutional Republic.
I'm waiting for Liz Cheney to get busted for really really real. Actually, I'm not holding my breath.
Me dino has ceased and desisted to watch any movie with Robert DeZero even when it is only on commercial TV. Some months ago I made one exception. I was changing channels when I happened upon a scene in what was once a movie I liked called Goodfellas. That was when DeZero's character is in a phone booth learning that his Mafia boss got whacked instead of being "made" a Goodfella.
I just wanted to see DeZero cry and throw a fit that wrecks the phone booth. Fast as that scene ended, I channel surfed on.

You took the thoughts right out of my head as I enjoyed each meme, dino! I'm with you 100% and you saved me a lot of typing. I also make sure to use "illegal alien" whenever possible to prevent the left from usurping the language to control the narrative. Can't stand the sight of DeZero anymore - old foul mouthed buffoon makes me hit the clicker faster than you can say "creep". Did you notice the left wing AARP magazine pasted him praisingly on the cover? Barf!

Me dino has never had anything to do with the AARP. I can relate for an awakened memory.
I became a union member as did most correction officers due to mistreatment by the Alabama Department of Corrections.
The AFL-CIO magazine praisingly pasted then President Clinton's smiling face on their mailed to me magazine. Having recently become a Rush Limbaugh fan, I immediately trashed it.

Giving AARP the heave-ho when my membership runs out in 2025. See my replies to 25n56il4 and freedomforall.

Good for you. Unlike you, I remained an AFL-CIO union member for self-preservation due to its lawyer protection from the mid-Eighties until I moved on just when I had bagged my retirement during May of 2003.
Me dino learned to stay away from the AARP some vaguely remembered years after that.

I'm sticking with Jay Severin's term, because it fits:

Like the term. Unfamiliar with Severin, I just looked him up. R.I.P.
Yet another person who died younger that me.
Had a relative who literally dropped dead from a heart attack when he was 37 and I was 73.
I kept switching those numbers around in my head during the funeral. Creepy!

Jay hosted a conservative radio talk show on WTTK-FM Boston for 11 years called "Extreme Games". Highly intelligent, highly informed, highly outspoken, highly confrontational with opposing views, but his facts were iron clad. You had better have your facts straight when you called in, or he would eat you up and spit you out.
He was Kryptonite to Woke Boston, for years various groups went apoplectic to get him fired, but he was the number one attraction for the station, but it was his own over-the-top comments that got him fired. If a particular group caused more trouble than others... he would say the quite part out loud.
To say Jay was politically incorrect was like saying water is wet.
He was famous for saying "if they succeeded in firing him the station wouldn't last a year". He was correct.
His direct quote was" WTTK will become WETB radio, and cease operation within a year" A reference to the ETB cards given to the Permanent Welfare Class, for which he had no use for.
          Again, exactly as he predicted..
He did go on to host a satellite radio channel for a few more years before contracting cancer and passing away at around 50-ish?

Wonderful set this time, OUC! I'll start by saying read dino's (allosaur's) post as he beat me to the punch on much of my first impressions and saved me typing time. RIP Rodney, I miss your shtick! LOL, pilot Xiden, saving democracy, and Haitian cannibals were sure to make it to the meme time, LOL! That last one is priceless! Thanks again, OUC, for the great start to my day.

Thanks for assembling this fine collection of Karma Memes, Carl.

The wheel falling off the plane . . .
This reminds me of a recent personal story.

I am driving in Arkansas last October 2023... I have a biological need to pull off the road at a service station. I get back to my car, turn the key and everything lights up - low oil pressure. I look under the car. All the oil is leaking out... at a rate of around a pint a minute. Then it stops... all the oil is gone. On the bright side, I just happened to pull over as the oil incident occurred. I figured that the oil retaining bolt had come loose or fallen out... I walk a quarter mile down the road that I turned off of prior to the service station -- the results of the oil leak are clearly present on the road, I do not see or find the oil bolt. The tow-truck / mechanic shows up 30 minutes later (more good luck). He lifts the front of the car, gets under the chassis and locates the oil bolt -- it had come completely loose. 400,000 miles of driving my 2 Camrys and this is the first time that this sort of incident has occurred. The mechanic tells me that the torque indicators on the bolt were not correct. Mechanic tightens the bolt back in place correctly. The service station has the oil of proper weight (5 quarts) -- more good luck. I am back on the road and the car continues to run fine.

Long story short -- although I had a Lot of Good Luck in terms of this incident, I have discovered, albeit anecdotally, that service and tech workers are becoming sloppy. I see this phenomena only getting worse. Everything is going to hell -- just a slow grinding march to hell. Nobody is actually held to account. Failure is acceptable, if not actually promoted. Time to hunker down in The Gulch and reduce interactions with the broken, crumbling, failing world.
