Great memes ouc, and loved every one👍
Great!
But nice try.
Thanks for the fun walk down memory lane, OUC!
Each tower had a phone and a hand radio. The radio was strictly for business and the police 10-code was used.
During those 21 years, wish I had a dollar for every time when assigned to be a rover (ground pounder) I said, "I'm 10-84 to your 20" which means, "Ah'm comin'."
PS . . . could use a thumbs up to maybe hit the hotlist tomorrow.
I phoned a couple of other bored officers on their own towers who yawningly agreed, "Yeah, you're right" about a space alien flying saucer clearly not being a UFO.
Never saw one. Yet one night I was on Tower #3 when what a local TV news reporter later described as a fist-sized meteor turned night into day for about three seconds by flying past overhead.
Not knowing what the hell was happening, I awaited to hear an explosion that never came. Why? I was wondering if Birmingham just got nuked over the horizon. It took about 40 minutes to drive there.
I lived in that direction in a "satellite city" about 30 minutes away. Still do.
