"Natural Born" was perverted by the Kim Wong Ark case just like most of the rest of our "naturalization" laws. It was common law all over the world when the Constitution was written that you inherited the same nationality as your parents and it didn't matter where you were born. You could be born with dual citizenship (Ted Cruz). But if you weren't born to at least one parent of that country you weren't considered a "natural born" citizen. Period. You could become a natural -ized citizen, meaning that you were an immigrant who had formally altered their nation of allegiance, but that's it.

Under the standard definition of "natural-born" citizen, NO, Kamala wouldn't be eligible. Barack Obama would have been eligible if his true father (Frank Marshall Davis) had been acknowledged as the real father and if neither Obama nor his parents had done anything to jeopardize his nationality, like say enroll him in a school claiming he was Indonesian. Oops.

My understanding is if a person is physically born in the USA, then citizen by birth is conferred. Kamala Harris and Vivek Ramaswamy were both physically born in the USA. There is a very strong argument Barack Obama was born in Kenya and does not have citizenship conferred.

Now someone named Vivek Shamwarmsy (an Indian who was born in the U.S). but his parents were not citizens...so he was not 'natural born' is running. He was not 'natural born'.
