I agree, but let me clarify. When I say they don't understand it, it is because they openly eschew it. They want a system which is inefficient because it is a system they delude themselves into thinking they can control. Markets are the most efficient way to distribute scarce resources, but these elitists don't want to have to go through the markets to get the resources. They want to invoke monopoly controls even when they are not the supplier of the goods/services. Instead of working as part of the system (efficient) they want to leech off the system, independent of the natural feedback and reciprocal restraints the market dictates. They want control even though they are unwilling to exert control over themselves.

Oh they understand completely. Their sole goal is to cull the herd, enslave the remaining as a peon class, while they dine nightly on pheasant.
It's either them or us. The two can not exist similtaneously.

These are ideologues who don't understand that there is a minimum point at which things stop functioning entirely. If there is one word which is completely foreign to the leftist it is efficiency.

We think it is dumb, but they are anything but ignorant. They are ideologues and elitists. They want to return to the feudalism era where the serfs do all the work and the lords reap all the benefits. They WANT to eliminate the middle class entirely - and all its wealth.
