I Want to Write a Book

I actually think I have a few books in me. And, I've been stirring them in my head. The most recent thought dawned on me as I was talking to some of my young coworker engineers the other day. We were al lamenting how stupid people are. I'm old enough to put together a great argument that it wasn't always this bad - and that's what I told them. I remember when really stupid people were not the norm. They stood out. Now, they're everywhere. They mishandle our banking, crash airplanes, derail trains, etc. And, I think there are some very documentable reasons for the surge. I have a great idea for the layout of a book on this. Some of the material will cause the readers to laugh out loud - and those are really the kind of books I've come to love. Aaron Clarey's book "Enjoy the Decline" was hard hitting while funny as hell - having me LOLing in several public places as I read it.

There is a harder-hitting topic I'd like to write about. And (thank you Ayn Rand and other's of the Russian background) I realize that putting it in a fiction novel would be wise for my self-preservation. I know many of you can appreciate that realization.

Happy Friday. Hold the course...

Hey do it! We need some laughter. But seriously I suspect you could be a very successful writer and that's my opinion. If I can do it, anybody can!

If you can, do it! If this is something you really would like to do don't wait until you are older and regret not doing it.

You want to see proof people are dumber today than in times past? Find an 8th grade English book published around 1890 and ask if you think high school graduates today could pass some of the simplest quizzes. Do the same with math, geography, and history.
