So, I watched Zelensky speaking to Congress standing there in front of Pelosi's gavel.... I have to say that the whole thing made me feel very concerned. I've been pretty good about "enjoying the decline" lately. But, this just reeks of massive past mistakes from my grandfather's generation. Putin is right to say we are carrying out a proxy war. I think we're being really stupid at this point...for many reasons I won't get into. My question to my fellow Gulchers is - How do you think this will end? Any guesses?
I will say that should the Ukraine be conquered, top Ukrainian government officials will retire into exile made filthy rich with our printed money.
I would not be at all surprised should Zelenksy makes it out with them to live in splender.

The reality is: at best the country continues the circle the drain. At worst everyone who live near a military base or major cities dies in a nuclear fireball.

The Ukraine will probably join NATO. Russia will saber rattle, but do nothing, because they know they can do nothing. We'll have another banana republic in NATO.
The real battle will be China, and they are watching and analyzing for how their version will go in the South China Sea.

Russia is not losing the war, as the world will soon find out. After a history of 500 years of not losing wars, poking a well-armed bear, over and over, is an extremely unwise idea.

Start a shooting war with Russia we will both lose significant portions of both our populations. You can take that to the bank. Do you really want to go there?
