You should see this movie. I finally saw it last night. As a guy who worked as a man of science within a massive government complex I could really relate. The climactic scene were the main character finally loses his shit on public television was cathartic and entertaining. Leo DiCaprio (sp?) is a great actor, IMO. This movie reminds me A LOT of Idiocracy. Just see this one and mull it over... Many parallels in it to the government management of the pandemic...which is probably why this movie was squelched a little when it came out. The reviews were very tepid at best. But, I think it's a pivotal piece.

I think they were trying to vilify COVID deniers. But things evolved too rapidly and it became a pretty effective tool AGAINST the Branch Covidians since they were the ones demanding that we didn’t trust our lying eyes. (Remember when the USN hospital ship was mostly unused when docked in NYC at the height of the pandemic? Where were all the “overrun” hospitals?)
So it turned out to be a pretty funny indictment of government propaganda. Which we were being told didn’t exist. Until it did.

I think you're right on all that. What the movie correctly points out is that we are too easily divided along political lines and we are no longer really able to communicate effectively. "A giant comet is going to kill us all." "Well, the president says..." And...if you're the one in the room who has actually looked at the data you're going to be seen as a combative nutjob and almost certainly not listened to.
