At the doctor's office the Receptionist told me I 'had' to wear a mask and I told her I didn't have to do that. She said, 'The doctor is going to be wearing one.'' My response was, "I guess he didn't get the memo. But, I can take this delicious insurance of mine somewhere else and I find they paid out $212,000 on doctors for me so far this year.' Something I said caught her attention!

  First, my heart goes out to you for your loss and your pain, 25n56il4, and I hope you can get well and find some comfort soon in your life.
  
  Then, it's funny how sometimes cold hard cash or access to a spigot of it can be so satisfyingly persuasive. You can smile a bit at that.

    Thank you for your kind thoughts. I am not one who enjoys ill health. A few minutes ago I was outside with Fred walking him and one of my neighbors came by and took his leash and said, "You better let me do this!' Fred was happy to see his little friend Gypsy Rose Lee. She's a pretty girl. I love dogs.

    It gave me a curious sense of victory. I'm not like that. But these people are so stupid! Do they really think that little paper mask protects them from anything? I managed a Federally Qualified Health Center for 16 years and I never wore a mask. The doctors and dentists and ancillary personnel did when treating a patient but our patients didn't wear masks. I never had a complaint of anyone spreading any disease.

      The best demo of the futility of wearing one of those silly blue paper masks was a video of a guy wearing one while out in the snow. You could see every breath, LOL. Cloth masks were just as bad. They are useless except in certain circumstances, IMHO, such as the hygienist wearing one when cleaning a patients teeth.
