Me dino wonders if the jumping walrus is just happy. Recalling when I was teenager during the Sixties when I read an editorial in the Dothan newspaper of Alabama.
The writer complained that the homosexuals coming out of the closet movement at that time had ruined the word, "gay," used in so many famous poems and so forth.
Me dino had read some of those poems in school before "gay" replaced the word, "queer."
As for the sunk boat, it says a lot of things about the competence of the voting boat handler.
By the way, myself grown up in the Deep South, I prefer my cat tail water plants with a little vinegar and tartar sauce to enhance its inherent catfish taste. Yum! Yum!
    Mustard? Not so much.

These are the best, I laughed out loud at just about every one of them. Floridian drivers failing Captcha tests, i.e. "what's that clickin sound". You can clone that one for California too.

All are good, as usual, thanks.
But the winner is, The Mask.

Dr 'Science' is going of his own free will, better than staying tho' I could mention alternatives.

Great collection, the first dozen in particular. 'Gonna use some of those.

But as someone decidedly non-collectivist with an always-on ideological radar for activism, I immediately noted that whoever chose to make the "turn signal Captcha" meme - also hilarious - consciously decided to single out "Floridians" as the dunces. I figure that's one of two possibilities: Either 1.) the guy who made it happens to live in Florida, which at 1-in-50 odds I tend to disbelieve, or 2.) he's consciously trying to lampoon Floridians and Florida in general because: it's the woke/stoned activism thing to do. Yeah, maybe I'm paranoid but work with me here.

Remember how, right after the big effort at forcing Wal-Mart to unionize and Wal-Mart refused, all of a sudden this avalanche of memes showed up with pictures of slobby, generally obese, rednecky people in outrageous clothes, and captions about "Saw this at Wal-Mart today?" Over time that avalanche succeeded in painting Wal-Mart and Wal-Mart shopping as low, shameful and trashy. It was basically a smear campaign against Wal-Mart - for refusing to unionize - and it was a successful smear. Certainly people of all types - including slobs - shop there, but who doesn't automatically think "trailer trash" when he thinks of Wal-Mart these days, even if he's planning on going there regardless? I know I do.

So as activists for (at minimum) Constitutional Republicanism, be on the lookout for a similar avalanche of Florida-shaming memes to spew from Leftwing meme-makers in the months to come. Because whether deservedly or not Florida - along with its Governor DeSantis - are quickly gaining a reputation for being, respectively, a refuge and a standard-bearer for core Republicanism. Which means the Left are eager to smear both in any way they can.

Simple pushback: Take whatever anti-Florida meme you come across into your photo-editor program of choice - freeware IrfanView for me - do a little precision copy-pasting of available letters (assuming there are enough available in the original caption,) and change the wording. If you don't have enough letters, just copy a chunk of blank background space, paste it over the whole caption, and use an Insert Text tool to type in your own.

These GGO forms unfortunately do not allow posting simple images (and I've long forgotten my online photo site logins for permalinking,) but I now have the turn signal meme saved with a caption that reads "Californians repeatedly failing the Captcha test..." True, this inescapably trashes Californians who are sane - and they do exist, far more of them, for example, than in the leftwing hell-hole Oregon, where I ...existed... before - but CA is notorious for its monolithic far-Left State government so it's a worthy target. And of course I live here so I'm entitled to flip it merde.

    Mischief managed.

Not to be pedantic or anything (ha!) but Florida has a bit over 1/15th the population of the whole US, so the 50-to-1 odds you cite should be about 14-to-1.

But there are exactly 50 State names from which to choose, not 14.

Yeah, but you were talking about the odds against the guy who wrote the meme living in Florida, not the odds against him picking that state at random.

Yes, 'was a time when GGO was a Troll-free zone but that clearly has changed. I'm off to ask an Admin about blocks - or maybe that "Ignore" button will suffice. 'Doing that forthwith, if nothing else to see what it does 'cause I've never before had reason to use it.

"The truth is written all along the page," as the boys in Yes once put it (alluding to some classic Asimov,) and my meaning here is crystal-clear - but incredibly, I've got some random stranger trying to tell me what I meant? Presumably he's a psychic. But there clearly are people who seem to enjoy argument for argument's sake regardless of the inanity level in their doing so. I won't even go into the whole context of "sticking to topic."

So... 'weary of this nonsense and done with it. I'm not real sure what Mr. Little is hoping to accomplish here, but if it's important to him to have his "last word" he is free to argue with himself from this point. Huzzah! 8^]

I thought that Florida was singled out because it's true in regards to the elderly population, coupled with the sexting while driving crowd.

Californians are always stuck in traffic so who needs signal lights when standing still most of the time...that was my experience back in the very late 70s.
