I wish I had an AR, but never had the bucks to spend on one. Hind sight being 20/20 they were a lot less expensive in my younger days. I know I shouldn't be exposing my guns on a public forum, but years ago I picked up a SKS with a scope on the cheap and a bunch of 7.62X39. When my son moved to Az he left behind a 12 gauge. I haven't used either in a couple of decades. The last time I fired the SKS was at a local range. The first thing they did was make me take off the scope and the range procedures were so stringent I only got off three rounds in 45 minutes. I left disgusted, took it home, cleaned it, packed it into the closet and never bothered with it again. If I take it out I'd have to go over the manual and start all over with it. I don't even remember how to take it apart. I imagine the 2K rounds I have probably aren't much good anymore although they've been packed in a sealed safe. Who knows? I also have a Jager AP74 I picked up cheap many many years ago. It's a 22LR semi-auto rifle that had a tendency to jam so I got tired of fooling with it. It also sits in a closet along side the SKS.

The only other rifle I still have is a replica 1861 Richmond, which is essentially a Confederate version of a .58 caliber Springfield. I did fire it live a few times at a friends farm and it's a hoot! Definitely got off more than three rounds in 45 minutes.

Maybe like preban AR lowers or magazines!

Three drops? I wish. I've had the stupid things slide off the mower/generator/washer tank and soak the whole thing including my hands and shoes. Smoking off the hot engine! Stream down the side of my car trying to get gas in the tank. I have two gas cans with slightly different mechanisms and they both suck. The spring loaded thing gets stuck or the shut off seal doesn't seal unless you physically grab and force it to close. Gasoline everywhere! Make sure you don't refill on the lawn or you'll get a lot of dead grass. Not to mention the amount of muscle and patience you need to hold on to the damn thing while it SLOWLY gurgles out the gas.

It is completely stupid, these vapor recovery nozzles. What a scam. The three drops on the ground are two orders of magnitude more mass (and become vapor) than the vapors. So stupid. I bet some company had a patent, and got a regulation to cash in. This is why government power MUST be limited!

The cowards prohibited the parents from entering – typically not a cowardness thing to do. Incompetent people are typically more then willing to let another do what they cannot. I think we should review the bank accounts of everyone involved; large unexplained deposit would equal to accessory to murder.

I'm not recoil sensitive, and a 223-ish round is essentially a one-hander. 7.62 or 300 Blackout would be in the same range. I only have 12 gauge shotguns for the same reason.

Looking for a 300 win mag rifle now for elk. I have 308 and 45-70, but no longer range calibers. Spent an age looking at cartridges. Largely ignored recoil in the metrics. 300 win mag carries great power a long way, is accurate and pretty common. Really want the new Savage Impulse Big Game, but it is as scarce as elk in MA. I love the idea of a working man's straight pull bolt action over snotty European versions for $5K. The Blaser R8 is very cool, but stupid expensive. You can change the barrel and caliber easily, but one can buy a different rifle and glass for each caliber for the price!

Unfortunately they don't look at shorter range which is more pertinent in SHTF situation, imo.
The blackout appears to be most controllable (low recoil) and effective for whitetail size game at 50 to 150 yards.
(Hypothetically, if someone already has an AK though, that's covered. ;^)

Listening to Michael Berry out of Houston this morning I was reminded that the people that live in these small towns are the irredeemable that the dems hate. This is not a tragedy but rather an opportunity for anti-gun legislation.
