Having grown up in an era when an unwed mother was a Pariah, I understood the need for an abortion (only very early in the pregnancy - less than 12 weeks). Girls got thrown out. But, consider this "Bad girls didn't get pregnant".

A lovely lady named Florence Crittenden pioneered a safe place for these poor girls who kept their babies. Her motto was 'Bad Girls Don't Get Pregnant' I really admired her. I was on the Board of Directors of our safe place for our local girls.

Nice. Our Catholic high school used what was at one time a convent and they housed unwed mothers. This was designed to be an alternative option to abortion. My wife donated our baby clothes to them from our 3 kids.

      That’s a very good point” bad girls didn’t get pregnant “ .
I asked another similar thinking co-worker for his take on it. He answer both impressed and horrified me. He said he was in favor of State Sponsored abortion. He said he’d rather pay $10k up front than $300k over a lifetime. And he went on to say, “It’s not our side that’s getting abortions. If they want to kill themselves who are we to stop them. Just less people to cancel our children’s votes.”
      I was like..........uhhhhhhh OK?!
I can’t say his “logic” is entirely flawed.

His logic is flawless, that is flawless Gulag or death camp logic. It eradicates the value of human life to achieve a perceived ideological goal and save a few bucks along the way. The problem with that kind of thinking is where does it end? What if the deciders of whose life is valuable or not decides his life isn't? There is a better way for a civilized people to handle the problem and the great welfare state isn't necessarily it. A society that encourages and rewards individual responsibility would be a good start.

I’ll just start. I think this is a purely political move by the DNC to electrify their base going into the mid-terms.
Served up by none other than Justice Roberts.
They are basically forcing the conservative justices to touch the third rail.
A Hail Mary play to be sure. If it works.....pretty smart.
The irony is it’s the Democrats that are forcing the issue at this time. But nobody in the MSM will admit it.
Well that’s what I think anyway.
Full disclosure....I see both sides of this debate. I used to be one sided on it. But, I’ve since come to the conclusion that it may be better if some people just don’t have children. I don’t like it. But, it’s kinda the reality we find ourselves in.
So debate the motivation or debate my position.
Maybe I’ve just been beaten down so bad on this subject that I’m buckling to evil. Give me a good whooping behind the woodshed if you think I need it.

Yep. When I heard this was "leaked" I laughed out loud. Sure it was... All purely political. Roe .v Wade will never be truly overturned. At worst, some women may need to travel across state lines. At worst. This is a mid-term thing...

What does the Constitution say about abortion? Nothing. Therefore it's for the states to decide for them selves.

Note that there is no general federal law against murder, they are all state laws.

What’s even more troubling is the obviousness that the Supreme Court has been weaponized politically. Regardless of your moral stance on this issue, THIS is not a good thing.
It’s kinda the last institution to have some credibility intact. Well DID HAVE. I really can’t say I’m surprised.
It was only a matter of when.
